Story
Every Christian has experienced days or even seasons of feeling extreme guilt over past or present sins, thinking that God is angry or disgusted with them — sometimes even wondering if they’re truly saved. This often happens when believers fixate on their sins while forgetting what Christ has already done on their behalf at the cross. Sam Storms explains it this way: “What consumes us is what we have done by sinning. What ought to consume us is grateful meditation on what God has done with our sinning.”

Story
This is an academic work describing how the New Testament writers re-purpose Genesis 6:1-5 in their presentation of Jesus as messiah. Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere. The book also includes lengthy appendices on the ancient debate on the inspiration of the book of 1 Enoch, New Testament allusions to the book, and academic resources.

Story
Spiritual warfare is real, and we are all involved whether we like it or not. The Bible plainly tells us that Satan schemes against humanity and that he wants to devour us. Daily we struggle against Satan's strategies and desire to take over God’s kingdom. This battle will not go away, and ignoring it could be disastrous. But don't be afraid. The victory is already won by Christ. No enemy is powerful enough to overcome the risen savior. In this book, Mark Bubeck exposes the reality of the conflict and the hope believers have.

Story
If we understand anything about our culture, it's that we desperately need healing. Many people are quick to believe in an outrageous conspiracy before they will believe in Jesus and the miracle worker He is. Throughout Scripture, we see that He makes the blind see, opens deaf ears, restores life from death, and so much more . . . but what about you?

Publisher's Summary
The Bible frequently speaks of Satan and demons, and there is no mistaking the teaching of Scripture on this one point: As there is a kingdom of God, so too is there a kingdom of Satan. And the two are embroiled in open conflict. Yet many Christians today are unaware of this battle and are woefully ill equipped to engage in the work of spiritual warfare. Or they believe Satan and the demonic are part of a worldview that has long since lost its usefulness and cogency. This is the 21st century, for heaven's sake.
Sam Storms believes we cannot so easily dispense with the multitude of biblical assertions concerning the reality of Satan and his demonic hordes. The truth is that believers in Jesus are likely to encounter on a daily basis men and women of all ages who are sorely oppressed, tormented, and tempted by demonic powers. How do we respond to these people? Is there help we can offer them?
The good news is that Jesus offers deliverance and freedom from the influence of the enemy, and the resultant joy, peace, and spiritual flourishing that comes through the victory of Jesus dying and rising again. Understanding Spiritual Warfare explains the biblical teaching on spiritual warfare and also shares numerous personal accounts of personal victories over the demonic, together with practical guidance on how you, too, can extinguish the "flaming darts" (Eph. 6:16) of the "cosmic powers" and "spiritual forces of evil" (Eph. 6:12) that so often bombard your life. Scattered throughout this audiobook are real-life testimonies of men and women who have experienced deliverance from demonic oppression and now walk in the joy and freedom of inner spiritual healing and, in the case of some, physical healing as well.
Understanding Spiritual Warfare is useful as a reference to address common questions about spiritual warfare, but it also serves as a training manual for a ministry of deliverance and inner healing. It is perfect for any individual or group who wants to grow in their understanding of spiritual warfare today.

Another helpful contribution.
“It is important to read widely and particularly those with whom you may disagree.” I am very pleased to have completed reading Sam Storms Understanding Spiritual Warfare. I appreciate that Sam anchors intentionally as much as he can in the scriptures but also in this treat has numerous personal testimonies which he gives important space to to illustrate and ‘personalise’ his teaching. I can only agree with Sam that much of the western Church has either dropped the ball or overly emphasised doctrine and practice when it comes to the evil one Satan. I believe his attempt to correct this is a great help and contribution although for me there are a number of areas still with the umpire and some things with which I would disagree. It is well worth reading and researching his scriptures accompanying his subject areas. The narrator I believe has captured Sam Storms meaning and is easy to listen to.

Insightful
I hadn't heard of Sam up until a couple of months ago. But once I saw him in a few interviews I knew that I wanted to see what this man was about. This book has so much in it and has been written in a way that communicates the healthy balance and pairing of revelation, understanding, experience and scripture. This is great resource for study, reflection and prayer on this topic that can help equip the saints in the body of Christ to help others reach freedom in their lives and to stand against the enemy and the destructive ideologies that have plagued men and women's hearts throughout history.
