Bei einer Wiederaufführung dieser Filme erkennt ein Mann im Publikum die Zusammenhänge und will sofort zur Polizei. Auf dem Weg dorthin wird er ermordet. Hatch und van Dusen nehmen die Fährte auf, sehen sich den Film an - und kommen so einem skrupellosen Mörder auf die Schliche, der es hasst, Fehler zu begehen und der auch keine Sekunde zögert, diese im Nachhinein endgültig "auszuräumen".
