Story
From the outside the parents of the kindergarten class at Darley Heights primary school seem to have it all. Living in the wealthy Sydney suburbs, it's a community where everyone knows each other - and secrets don't stay secret for long. The big date in the calendar is the school's annual fundraising trivia night, but when the evening gets raucously out of hand, talk turns to partner-swapping. Initially scandalised, it's not long before a group of parents make a reckless one-night-only pact. But in the harsh light of day, those involved must face the fallout of their behaviour.

Story
My hand trembles as I stare at the anonymous text. On this sunny Saturday morning, our twin ten-year-old boys were playing in the park just down our tree-lined street. But only one of them has come home… and it’s all my husband’s fault. I race to Leo’s study and demand answers. As his face turns white, I know: one of his affairs has turned deadly. I always smell the unfamiliar perfume on his shirt. I try to pretend we are a happy family, for the sake of the children… but now, my child is in terrible danger.

It’s so kind of our neighbours to throw this party welcoming us to our new home. My husband and I finally moved to the right place. A happy, safe street where nobody knows about my mistakes. But I soon learn their smiling faces hide even deadlier secrets… As I take in the little plates of sandwiches arranged over checked tablecloths, the lavish cocktails, and children playing, I finally feel happy in my new home with Owen. I love hearing the gossip from the local families; the whispers about which wives I should avoid, and which husbands sneak out at night.

Good Characters
Did a good job developing the characters and setting. Esperance is another world from where I grew up. Story was good, if a little predictable. Performance and production are excellent.

Great Aussie Tale
I quite enjoyed this listen so much so, that I would definately look at more of Ali Lowe's offerings. A group of highschool friends and acquintances with that familiar theme of trying to maintain facades with the in crowd, and the out crowd. Throw in a murder and you've got a recipe for a great story.

Great Narration
The way a book is read is so important and I had no internal complaints with this one. All the characters were very listenable. I couldn't help liking Carol. The story itself is great too.

Fun holiday page turner
I was almost going to DNF after a couple of chapters, one of the narrators really grated - like a robotic bogan - but I'm glad I pushed through, it did turn into a fun page reader!

Wickedly entertaining
The running club follows the lives of 5 women living in the well to do suburb of Esperance until one night one of them is murdered. We delve into the past of the characters and find out about long harboured feelings, that have been held on. Which, if any of those led to her murder? Just when you think you have the answer the books takes one wicked twist followed by another and another. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline’s and twists. A great who-dunnit !
