The fractured family!
Violet had worked as a Lady's companion for 8 years when the woman is murdered. Inspector Stokes and Barnaby Adair are asked to solve this along with their wives whom have usually helped to solve these type of things as long as they are not at risk.
The audio was excellent, with the Narrator Napoleon Ryan giving all the voices great inflections.
The cases are fascinating.

Somewhat disappointing
After reading all the Cynster stories I was very eager to read about Mr Montague.
I actually can’t believe this was written by the same author. The mystery part of the story was good however there was quite a lot of rather ‘corny’ and unnecessary dialogue.
I also struggle with this narrator. Simon Prebble’s characterisation of Barnaby etc in the first book set a precedence which was a difficult act to follow. Because of this I probably won’t listen to the remainder of the series 😟.
