Publisher's Summary

The brilliant, inspirational next book by the author of the incredible number one best seller First Man In.

Without fear, there's no challenge. Without challenge, there's no growth. Without growth, there's no life.

Ant Middleton is no stranger to fear: as a point man in the Special Forces, he confronted fear on a daily basis, never knowing what lay behind the next corner or the next closed door. In prison, he was thrust into the unknown, cut off from friends and family, isolated with thoughts of failure and dread for his future. And at the top of Everest, in desperate, life-threatening conditions, he was forced to face up to his greatest fear, of leaving his children and wife without a father and husband.

But fear is not his enemy. It is the energy that propels him. Thanks to the revolutionary concept of the 'Fear Bubble', Ant has learned to harness the power of fear and understands the positive force that it can become. Fear gives Ant his edge, allowing him to seek out life's challenges, whether that is at home, pushing himself every day to be the best father he can be, or stuck in the death zone on top of the world in a 90mph blizzard.

In his groundbreaking new book, Ant Middleton thrillingly retells the story of his death-defying climb of Everest and reveals the concept of the 'Fear Bubble', showing how it can be used in our lives to help us break through our limits. Powerful, unflinching and an inspirational call to action, The Fear Bubble is essential listening for anyone who wants to push themselves further, harness their fears and conquer their own personal Everests.

Popping my own fear bubble

This book struck me on many levels. I listened to it whilst laying in hospital recovering from a 4th cancer surgery since being diagnosed in July 2020. My recovery and future surgeries will be placed into bubbles and popped one at a time.
I’d recommend this book to anyone going through a person struggle no matter how big or small.

Interesting story but a bit hypocritical

Really interesting story but often felt like Ant was quite hypocritical when he was describing others.

Had some good messages about tackling life and would say it's worth a read.

insightful and entertaining

I enjoyed it, when Ant comes down everest it was like reading an adventure novel. I like that he narrates his own book too. Some useful concepts in this that I think a lot of people can relate to. The ego vs pride discussion also feels very genuine and is explained quite succinctly.
All in all I liked the balance of entertainment, concepts, experience to tie concepts too and the honesty in its delivery!
I might have given it 5 stars if I wasn't a bit jealous of Ant's brutally honest and hard man nature, no fear... :)

Another masterpiece by Middleton.

The stories and lessons discussed in this book have further added to the progress i've made - and will continue to make - in my life. I was there to learn from the First Man In, and now i've just become aware of and am interested to make use of The Fear Bubble. I am grateful for this mans sacrifice, and thankful that he chose not to give up, for because of this, we've all grown and found ways to better ourselves just a little bit more each day. Thanks Ant.

Regards,
Chris Lazar

Couldn’t recommend this more!

Fear holds us back from achieving what we are truly capable of, Ant’s method of containing fear within a bubble is incredible. It allows you to stop stressing the little things and be focused when in the bubble. This book is life changing!
