Publisher's Summary

Candice Fox has been described by the Sydney Morning Herald as 'one of Australia's finest new gen crime writers' and her latest novel is another thrilling ride, as a mass prison breakout lets loose 650 of the country's most dangerous prisoners.

'Are you listening, Warden?'

'What do you want?'

'I want you to let them out.'

'Which inmates are we talking about?'

'All of them.'

When 650 of the world's most violent human beings pour out from Pronghorn Correctional Facility into the Nevada Desert, the biggest manhunt in US history begins. But for John Kradle, this is his one chance to prove his innocence, 26 years after the murder of his wife and child. He just needs to stay one step ahead of the teams of law enforcement officers he knows will be chasing the escapees down.

Death-row-supervisor-turned-fugitive-hunter Celine Osbourne is single-minded in her mission to catch Kradle. She has very personal reasons for hating him - and she knows exactly where he's heading....

Another great story from the author

Can’t understand some of the moaning about the narration. I enjoyed every aspect of the audiobook from start to finish, especially the narration. Having the 2 narrators tell the story adds a nice bit of colour to the listening experience. Can’t recommend the author highly enough - great original story, great character development, great writing

Enthralling

This book kept my interest from the very beginning till the end. The split narration was an added bonus.

Thriller

A prison is emptied due to a terrorist threat, and the prisoners all need to be rounded up. There are so many threads in this story. Who, how, why and it all kept me guessing. Quite fun. Highly recommended.

Brilliant Fox

Candice's, as usual brilliant writing. Shame about the narrators. One of them sounds like a robot.

Really

Not your best work Candice.
However an interesting concept.
The male narrator was pretty good, but the lady, Lisa Negron was very, very flat. Poor performance lady, didn’t enhance the story at all.

monotone robotic narration

I'm only a few chapters in but the woman's narration is driving me crazy, will abandon audiobook and buy hardcopy because I love this author's books but can't listen to a voice which sounds computor generated

Exciting, inventive, humane

What I love most about Candice Fox novels is the thrill of her amazing mind. She is so creative and inventive in the crimes she conceives and the way her professional and spontaneous detectives solve them. Every character from the monstrously evil to the noble innocents who rise above their cruel fates is animated by her warmth and humanity.
