Publisher's Summary

Still notorious, radical, and revolutionary 50 years later.

A survival guide from one of the greatest creative organizers of the 20th century - now with a new foreword by co-conspirator Lisa Fithian.

Throughout the 1960s and '70s, Abbie Hoffman crisscrossed the country, ferreting out alternative ways of getting by in America - some illegal and all radical. Causing scandals with its advice on how to Survive!, Fight!, and Liberate! in the “prison that is Amerika”, Steal This Book is a revolutionary's manual to running a guerilla movement, as well as getting free food, housing, transportation, medical care, and more.

This anniversary edition gives a new generation an insider's view into the movements of the '60s and '70s. While many of the holes in the system that Abbie exposed have since been plugged, the spirit of revolution, the dedication to opposing injustice, and the passion of creative activism continue to inspire today.

Funny, Disturbing, Informative

As someone who was in my early teens in that era but in Australia and seeing the brutality of this stupid war, that we had no right to mess with, broadcast daily on TV and having two older brothers that could have been draughted, I get the anger and frustration that this book exudes.
The language of Hoffman is funny to hear again, the angry educated hippie style of utter contempt for the 'pigs'.
The hints on living free are pretty controversial and funny to listen to but have basicaly all been closed off by technology anyway. I'm conflicted on whether they weren't targeting largly small hard working business people rather than the filthy military industrial complex, other large corporations profiting from the misery and the idiots in congress.
Nothing has changed and the US neocons mainly are still sticking thier noses in to distablise and profiteer all around the planet and unfortunately my pissweak governments have followed like lapdogs each time.
I love America and Americans. I do business there but your gung ho governments need to calm the f'ck down.
Vote for RFK Jnr in 24, he seems like he has the balls and brains to take the bastards on!
An enjoyable listen.
