"Another swoon-worthy listen"
The Shadow is a passionate and complex story, filled with romance, art, history and suspense. William and Raven are reunited again and the Prince will stop at nothing to protect her all while battling forces that are trying to sabotage him and his rule over Florence. I absolutely loved this 2nd installment of The Florentine Series even though it was a little slow in the middle. We finally get to learn how William came to be and the tragedy of how he lost his first love. The last part of the book was filled with lots of heart pounding action and of course it ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book.
"Another stinking cliffhanger!!!"
I've had it with authors that write trilogies. I waited for this book to be released before purchasing it and it's predecessor, The Raven. Now I have to wait around while the author continues the story in yet another book. I think this is just a BS way for greedy authors to make more money. From this point forward, if a book can't be read as a standalone, I'm not interested!
"Nice Twist to the Story"
Such a talented writer. Especially enjoyed the last few chapters. The narrator's voice for William is so sexy.
"Take me away"
First lets start by saying John Michael Morgan is an excellent narrator I wish he would have done all of the books. The storyline was excellent the supporting cast was great the characters were wonderful I really enjoyed the authors version of the prince.
"The Shadow, a great novel by Sylvain Reynard!"
I love both the print and the audible version, I often listen to the audiobook while following along in the print book, usually I am content with just the book, but this series, I wanted to hear it as well, the performance by John Michael Morgan is always so good!
I do not compare books, I take them individually for their own merit!I think Sylvain Reynard's books are incomparable-they are all epic.
In this book it is The Prince, he is so strong, and no matter what is thrown at him he is able to persevere. He also shows his feelings for Raven, which is unheard of in this series-a vampyre to have feelings for "his pet".
An epic tale of true love between a human and a vampyre!
At the end of this book I could not wait for the next book to come out, and now I am going to listen to The Roman- I can't wait and look forward to it! Unfortunately John Michael Morgan has passed away so we will see what happens!
"Love this series."
I usually don't read vampire novels but since it was by Sylvain Reynard and I adored the Gabriel series I had to read it. His writing is so descriptive! Can't wait for the "Roman".
Now I have to wait for book 3. It will be like a Christmas present!
"For the love of Florence - I need The Roman!!!"
Do not read this book if you have not read The Raven...also this is a Cliffhanger...
The story of Raven and William continuous. The whole world tries to ruin what they have found in each other, and above all this they seem to be their own worst enemies. William is set to choose between his people and Raven, among blows of deception from his own kind and an enemy moving closer threatening the existence of his people.
John Michael Morgan again did a great job on the narration.
Sylvain has a way of telling a story that will captivate and thrust you into a new world, thank you for sharing these stories with us.
I can't wait till the next book comes out... hope we don't have to wait another year ... Anxious to see if Raven and Michael get their HEA#
I loved this book. It was hard to put down. It was wonderfully writtwn and read. I hope the next one comes out soon.
The Prince sending Raven away.
All beautiful done.
Made me fall in love with Sylvain's writing even more.
Waited what seemed like forever for this book but it was so worth it. Another beautifully written story with many twists and turns. The Prince/William and Raven's relationship is everything to both of them, above everything else and all that what to come between them. Plot includes intrigue, murder, action, romance, tenderness and traitorism are all here. Now to wait for the next book.
"I loved it!"
Exciting, gripping, romantic, fantastic! Sylvain Reynard has done it again! I cannot wait until the last book of this trilogy 'The Roman' is released... Roll on December!!! Well worth a credit!
