Publisher's Summary

After serving two years in a federal prison, Karen Hashimoto is out on parole and eager to put her criminal past behind her. No easy task, since she's also the former supervillain known as Crushette. A chance encounter leads to an unexpected opportunity, and she is recruited as the newest member of the city's premier team of superheroes: The Good Guys.

Now Karen has new teammates, a new code name, and the daunting responsibility of trying to be the hero everyone thinks she can be. Becoming a champion for truth and justice is going to be rough, especially for the ex-girlfriend of the notorious Doctor Maniac. Karen will have to do everything in her powers to keep her past from ruining her future. It was so much simpler being the bad guy.

"I think the reader had a fav part"

if I was going to pick one thing it would be the lack of emotion early on .... or the ability to bring me into there emotional state, so latter when they were exp strong ones I felt like I was just being told what I should be feeling. when the Gil's giggled / bonded was OK or the first bit of her talking to the lady at the buss stop, but not how it side tracks into being about men looking at her boob's , I really wasn't expecting the sex in this but it was the strongest part with the bf.

    "Graphic Suprrhero Sex"

This book would have been perfect without all the 'extra' details. I had to skip the last half of chapter 13. It isn't that it didn't work in the story line, I just didn't expect it to because adult erotica. Other than that one chapter, the rest of the book, and characters were great.

"Male power-fantasy with a female protagonist."
    Any additional comments?

This is an odd one. Generally I liked the book, it's a first person narration with an interesting enough narrator. It's just, well, the women are written like men and the men are written like either angelic paragons or irredeemable perverts. Any man in this book that isn't the perfect male specimen with out fault or flaw, is actively trying to rape the main character. And there are rape scenes in this book but with little or no consequence to the story at large. The character being raped responds with the same reaction as someone getting a parking ticket.

Honestly on the elements alone I would say this is a bad book. But the book is first and foremost a superhero story with spectacular fights and amazing feats. And it does that part well enough (Although there are MANY descriptions of the main character's naked ass during the fights). The really poor characterization is not a huge problem because that's not really the what the book is about. Granted any time the story tries to dip it toe into the deeper end of the character pool it's painful but these moments are few enough that it's not an over all painful read.

Generally this book is like reading a comic from the 90s. Lots of spectacle and a good deal of titillation. Plot an characterization are an after thought at best. If you a male comic book fan it's not horrible. Women and people who enjoy character driven stories should stay very far away from this book.

Similar to Kipjo Ewer's "The First" series.
I really enjoyed it, probably one of my 10 favorite books this year.

"fun read once you get back that bit in the middle"

it was an ok superhero romp. Not the best but ok What I feel kind of detracted from it is that almost entire chapter in the middle that felt like fanfiction. After a while I started wondering when they were just going to get on with the story

    "

I like the fact that the super heroes even though they are powerful they are still human. As faulty and flawed as most of us are.

    "Love it"

Great story for all fans of super heros, though not appropriate for young kids. A bit o. The darker side and with some sex, i love the main characters transition from villian to hero.
