Dragons Riders: The last noble warriors in the realm. Only heroes can embolden the ordinary. For centuries, millennia, the Dragon Riders galvanized generation after generation, adding Riders to their ranks and birthing dragons from their eggs. But there are no more heroes. War with the Andarens is like nothing the Riders, nor the armies of Erador, have ever faced. In the place of heroes, there are only soldiers now. Fodder for the machine of war. This time of twilight is set to be the crowning hour of the dark when the light is losing its grip.

Story
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Publisher's Summary
The spectacular conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Raven's Shadow series, which began with the critically acclaimed Blood Song.
Empires will fall. Queen Lyrna has survived the bloody siege of Alltor. Now she must rally her troops and take back the capital from the Volarian invaders. But driving her hated enemy out of the Realm will not satisfy her lust for vengeance - she wants to pursue them across the ocean and burn their empire to ashes. To do so she must place her faith in the Seventh Order: men and women who wield terrible powers born of the Dark itself.
Vaelin Al Sorna would sacrifice his life for his queen - and may yet have to. Only by unmasking the Volarians' mysterious ally can the tide of war be turned. To this end Vaelin must travel deep into the icebound north, in search of a man who cannot die - and he must do it without the aid of his blood song, which has fallen ominously silent....
Queen of Fire is the epic conclusion to the acclaimed Raven's Shadow series by New York Times best-selling author Anthony Ryan.

Began so well but fizzled
Really enjoyed the first book in this series but by book 3 I had to force myself to keep listening - I wanted to like it but just kept hoping it was nearly finished. It just dragged interminably in places, overwrought battle scenes became repetitive; felt there were too many characters & disparate threads to really care enough about any of them in the end.

Awesome Series
When you see a series as long a this, you inevitably ask yourself, is it going to become boring? Well, Fear Not, this book series is incredible and continues throughout the whole series to be ever-changing and always interesting. For me, it's been one of the best series I have listened to and I have listened to hundreds of books. The only issue I had with this series is for the sheer number of character stories and the similar names used were at times difficult to keep track of. Otherwise, this gets a highly recommended from me.

Started strong
Started strong in the first book with good character development but proceeds to introduce so many new one dimensional characters with the same personality, that I couldn't keep track of them. If I have to listen to one more long, tiresome, drawn out description of a battle...

Fast moving
Fast moving as I have come to expect, however after the first book I found it came to lack a certain lure.

Best epic story in a very long time
I was enthralled by this books from the first page couldn’t stop listening to it. I highly recommend it to all who like gore, magic, adventure, mystery and unfulfilled love. I have made the mistake of choosing way too many books that read like twilight or 50 shade of grey (nothing wrong with these two books but after reading the same formula it gets too boring). This book is original. Happy listening.

What a Ride!
This third instalment definitely didn't disappoint, except that I wanted it to keep going and going! What a fantastic, epic journey. I love all the characters, the lore, plot, the massive scope that the story encompasses. Brother Frentis (sp?) is definitely my favourite, and his story arc is so intriguing but some things I couldn't understand the 'why' of. I felt the story was a bit drawn out in places, but in a way I'm glad because it made the story longer and I didn't want it to end. One of my new favourite authors, definitely one of my new favourite series! Another thing, please release these in kindle to Australia so we can read along! It's such an intricate story I for one would like to go back and look things up again etc. And I can't figure out how to spell the names just by listening lol.
