I grew up reading the Hitchhiker book series. In addition to being a far out funny series, I remember being fascinated at how clever and unique the plot and script was. Decades later, I've again reacquainted my love for the novels, and the experience, kind of like a journey back in my own space/time continuum. But this time, exceeding my expectations, the magic of the novel has been brought to new comical life by Martin Freeman. Simply put: Freeman makes it even funnier. The only bad thing I can say about this audible volume is that it ended!
"love hitchhiker's guide. one more part"
apparently this bit is optional but review has to be twenty words. somewhat like a truly terrible waffling vogon poem I will fill this space and say I loved this book. as I love all hitchhiker's guide books this didn't take me terribly by surprise. but does explain the confusion I encountered having stumbled upon "and another thing" somewhat like a non linear time line. now having adjusted to temporal shifts and multi dimensions I realise "mostly harmless" came first. now to go back to the future and revisit "and another thing......."
"an enjoyable conclusion to the trilogy (of five)."
if you like hitch hikers you will want to know how it all ends, and this is it. Martin Freeman does a great job of bringing the text to life making it all a thoroughly enjoyable listen.
"No time to read??"
Yes, its a great way to get into the books if like me you don't find you have time to sit and read!
Any of D.A. books as they are all brilliant, funny, thought provoking and a bit silly!
none was better or worse as they all ROCK!
no as i don't have time for one sitting listens.
if like me you find the act of reading tedious this is an excellent way of 'reading' the books you thought you never would!
It was perfect in every way a wonderful 'end' to an incredible series. Douglas Adams is something else.
"Excellent book, not the best in series"
Mostly Harmless has much of Adams' genius but feels like a hasty roundoff of HHGTTG.
Douglas Adams is one the greatest story tellers to have lived and having Martin Freeman read it was just a brilliant choice
I love this book series from start to finish. I would defiantly recommend! Good story, characters and performance from start to end.
Another great book in The series and well read too, really enjoyed this one would recommend to people who like the series so far
