It wasn't hard to follow the scent of blood to the living room where the fae had been killed. It had been a violent death, perfect for creating ghosts.
Mercy Thompson enjoys life as a mechanic, but life is never simple given her increasing closeness to the local werewolf pack and her ability to change into coyote form at will. And when a member of the fae community calls in a favour, needing her skills for a covert murder investigation, she jumps into the hunt.
But the dangers multiply, and she clashes with shadowed creatures of great power. When her old boss, Zee, is charged with a brutal assassination, Mercy find herself fighting alone. There are those who love her, who would keep her safe, but she is wary and holds her freedom precious. Until, that is, she has nothing left to lose but her life....

"Brigg's third novel featuring [Mercy] Thompson (after Blood Bound) is another top-notch paranormal mystery; her well-balanced contemporary world, where humans live uneasily among werewolves and fae, is still a believably lived-in world; the ever-present." (Publishers Weekly)
"Great but where are books 4-7?"
Why on Earth does Audible have books 1-3 and 8 but not those in between?
"A must Read!"
Fantastic novel by brilliant author ! Love this series and can read and listen to again and again!
Mercy always standing up for what she believes is right
Yes was fantastic couldn't put it down
"Wonderful series- more please!"
One of my favorite books.
Mercy is a brilliant protagonist. I love how strong and loyal the character is.
Lorelei King doesn't sound how I expected Mercy to sound but she does a great job bringing to life a wide variety of characters.
This book is one of the darkest of the series and, ahem, I might of cried a little... But it also has warmth and humor in it.
I loved this book and the second I finished it I immediately came to audible to download the next book in the series only to find Bone Crossed is not available. PLEASE make the whole series available on audible!
"Great story but darker than the others"
Great story Couldn't put it down nice to develop a different group in this case the story centres around the Fae
Mercy of course
Yes it has it's lighter moments and makes you laugh at times but this one is more likely to make you cry
A few problems with the audio with some skipping which is a bit annoying
Even more annoying is books 4 to 7 in the series are not available on audible.co.uk. They are available on Audible.com though so they already are recorded.
I requested them weeks ago but still not available here just bizarrely book 8
not the best recording quality. seems to skip a lot . tried downloading and streaming.
