Ammon's job was simple, to care for the dragon eggs in the Nest. It should have been easy, but it wasn't. When the sun rose after the hatch, he had made an enemy of the most powerful man in the kingdom, and he would soon learn that was the least of his problems!

"A wonderful find!"
An excellent book. I was so pleased with this one. From the first chapter I knew I was going to like the entire work. Though most of the events are rather predictable, it was still a fun listen. The names of the characters, places, and other object were easy to remember yet still had an air of mystery. The only thing I wasn't overly ecstatic about was that the dragons were only grey and black, except the main character's gold dragon Folgid. I also wish the dragons could talk to the humans in the story. The only dragon to speak is Folgid, and only a few words. Still, I can wait until the second book comes out sometime this year. Stevens has revealed that it will be Forging of Bonds....hopefully it comes out soon.
"I hope he writes more along this line"
This story is awesome. My husband (who is blind) enjoyed this story very much. We hope to find more along these lines from this author
"Heros also do bad things"
I never read the printed version but I wouldn't need to read it with the performance of Tim Bruce.
Well, I could have given it another book similar but it wouldn't do it justice. I believe Hatch would be a stand alone book. you can't compare the righteous hero in hatch with the selfishness of the other books character. even if the character in the other book finally coming around at the end.
Tim was perfect for this book. all characters were geared for his brand of action.
nope but it raised my blood pressure of few times.
I would love to see a book two in this trilogy.
every thing about this book is grrrrreat. i wonder if there will be a part 2
"Fun for a family trip, and good for all ages."
The second half of the book was much more interesting. This is more of a fairy tail than a book, or series.
The good guys won (for now), but nothing surprising or new.
Though he did a great job, very clear and did make me pass out or sleepy.
No, there are other books with much better story lines and characters.
This was worth the money, and a nice way to enjoy a trip with family.
"The unexpected bond with a dragon!"
I enjoyed the way the main character received and bonded with a dragon. It was a question of "Does he deserve this?" Not a question of background or name.
The moment he realized that he was bonded with a dragon and the greatness of that one little red Dragon.
When the Knight that thought he deserved a dragon, found out that he would not be getting his bond with a dragon.
There were moments where I had a strong feeling of "Rightness". and "Good for you." type feelings.
I really enjoyed listening to this Audio book! I did receive this Audio Book for Free from Audio Book Boom in exchange for an unbiased review.
"A VERY GOOD LISTEN!"
I really liked this book. It began a little dodgey. I don't want to give any spoilers so let's say, it began with a plot line that is very familiar if you read a lot of fantasy. However after this plays itself out, this book takes a 180 and is a "must read to the end at once" after that.
My only disappointment was it isn't a Series. The book ends with a very satisfactory ending and in the perfect way to continue this as Series... Perhaps the Authour or his publisher reads his reviews!! HINT, HINT
"Simple and Simply Satisfying"
The simple plot of this dragon tale is nevertheless engaging and elegant enough to satisfy all but the most exacting audience.
Character building is quite strong and the narrator has the skill to enliven each one with a unique voice and spirit.
Mr. Steven's has crafted a very engaging work of fiction and a great start to a promising fantasy series. I, for one, can't wait to see how the rest of this story unfolds.
This is was a credit well spent!
"great book for fans of dragons"
couldn't stop listening. wonderful story and great performance. definitely wish there was a sequel to tie up loose ends.
The author makes it feel as if you are seeing what's going on with a 369% POV. Drawing the main view from the main character but then throwing in the view o those around...on both sides. great sense of placement and time.
"Simple but enjoyable"
This is a very simple story with quite two dimensional character. The good guys are very good and the bad guys are all very bad with no grey areas whatsoever. The story is quite predictable too.
So why 5 stars? Well I've been having a really bad run of books lately and even the better fantasy books take so bloody long to get into. It's been really refreshing to just be able to get straight into the story and just enjoy it for what it is. It also made my shift at work go faster, which is always appreciated!
