Publisher's Summary

Six years had passed since the redoubtable knight Sparhawk had triumphed over the evil God Azash and returned to Elenia with Queen Ehlana, his bride. And now a new danger had arisen to threaten the peace of Ehlana's realm. The trouble had started quietly. At home, bandits began to plague the hill country. In neighboring Lamorkand, the customary political unrest turned ominous with whispers that the bloody heroes of old soon would rise again. And travelers reported that the Trolls had all disappeared from the icy northern haunts of Thalesia. Simple problems, apparently unrelated - until an ambassador arrived from the far-off Tamul empire, begging Sparhawk's aid. These same dangers that stalked Ehlana's kingdom had already struck his realm full-force.

The fabled ancient warriors of Tamuli had indeed returned - intent on carnage. Monsters and fell magics had followed, and the havoc and terror they spawned were tearing the empire apart. The empire had sent for the Pandion Knight who had killed the God Azash. If Sparhawk wanted to stop this danger before it could savage his own land, he now must lend his aid. Sparhawk, Ehlana, and their daughter, Princess Danae, agreed to make the grueling trek to the far-distant empire of the east. They traveled in company with a handful of trusted companions: the stalwart champions of the four Militant Orders, the knight Berit, Mirtai the giantess, and the young thief Talen. With the child-goddess Aphrael to speed their journey, they began the treacherous traverse of the utmost reaches of the Daresian continent, to Tamul's distant capital. There, in the emperor's glittering court, they would encounter corruption, treachery - and a greater danger than any man had faced before!

Kevin Pariseau needs voice acting lessons.

Kevin didn’t do the story justice. His accents were nearly all the same and the few times they were different one was making Emban sound like a bad Sean Connery and Tynian like a very old man for example and don’t get me started on that “folksy” accent either.....

The story I think went on for a bit too long and throughout the whole series the answer to most of the characters questions was “Use the Bhelliom.”
Way too much over usage of the blue rose, whereas in the Belgariad Aldur’s orb wasn’t used enough for amazing feats.

I’m normally not a book critic but I got bored with this series and only persevered to completion just so I know what happens.

Hey, it’s David Eddings, you be the judge.

Great story, but oh dear.. this narrator!

Would you listen to Domes of Fire again? Why?

Yes, but for the story, not the narration.

What didn’t you like about Kevin Pariseau’s performance?

His ability to create characters is really limited and sometimes you have no idea who is talking! Plus, he pronounced things differently to the first series narrator- surely that back history is important for continuity?

awesome story but.....

I love David Eddings but when the narrator put on an Irish accent that was a bit too much.

Good Story

Really enjoyed the story. Narration needed a little more expression of different characters and drama.

Disrespectful pronounciations

I honestly find it disrespectful to the audience when a new narrator picks up a series and makes no attempt to listen to the previous works. Within ten minutes the number of names mispronounced to such a degree that I wasn't sure what character was being referenced lead me back to the physical book. Do better!

terrible narrator

one of my all time favourite novels ruined by all narration. pronounces names differently to the first series and then spends the rest of the book making a group of hard bitten warriors sound effeminate and faltering in their speech. only has 3 voices for everyone ans makes me want to hit skip as soon as Danae starts talking. I wish I'd never purchased these.

Love Eddings and Preferred this narrator

The narrator of the Elenium was poor - I was glad they changed him for this series. Whilst his accents and some of the pronunciations were distracting in this series, his actual story telling was far superior.
