TOP Name Writers Enter the Realm of John Ringo's Black Tide Rising Zombie Apocalypse Series!
A collection of all-original stories set in the Black Tide Rising series of novels created by multiple New York Times best-selling author John Ringo.
Stories by John Ringo, Eric Flint, John Scalzi & Dave Klecha, Sarah A. Hoyt, Jody Lynn Nye, Michael Z. Williamson, and more.
The news that humanity had been dreading for ages had come true. Zombies are real. Worst of all, we created them. The apocalypse was upon us, and every man, woman, and child had to answer a simple question of themselves: "What do we do now?"
For a group of neighbors in the Chicago suburbs of Northern Indiana, it was "work together or die"...and figure out how to live on top of oil storage tanks to keep the zombies at bay. For the Biological Emergency Response Teams in New York City, it was "how long can we fight off the infected before it's too late?" as well as having to fight other groups all out to claim a dwindling stock of supplies and safety. And for a group of cheerleaders, it was about the end of their world. And about what happens when you get a group of physically fit young women really, really angry.
Featuring original stories from some of the brightest stars in the science fiction universe: John Ringo; Eric Flint; John Scalzi & Dave Klecha; Sarah A. Hoyt; Jody Lynn Nye; Michael Z. Williamson; Kacey Ezella - cheerleading coach, veteran, and helicopter pilot; and more.

"I DON'T LOOK GOOD IN A FEZ"
BOY SCOUTS, BATH SALTS AND Logistics
A lot of these stories are Prepper Stories and some are action packed Zombie stories. Many are more deleted scenes than stories. Many don't have endings. Most are narrated by Tristan. Boys Scouts are mentioned often, along with Bath Salts. Some stories are all about the logistics of preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse. Like usual, Scalzi had the best story. I love Zombie stories, but it takes a master writer like Franklin Horton (The Borrowed World) to get me interested in Prepper stories. This is only for hard core bug out lovers.
DUCT TAPE IS THE BEST EVIDENCE THERE IS , THAT GOD REALLY EXISTS.
"great stories in a great universe"
this is the best zombie universe out there. as dark and bleak as walking dead, but with these stories it's not about the infected, or even about the survivors, it is about the human spirit.
"You will find a story you"
This is a good book and an excelent audio performance. The reason i gave it only four stars was that there were some stories i enjoyed a lot more than the others and I wanted them to be the whole book. Buy this book and you will find a story you love... and all of your dreams will come true.
"Wished they took the last books further"
The individual stories were fun but they lacked the depth and development this story needs. The last book had awesome characters and they were added in to legitimize this tying in with the rest of the series. Come on Ringo!
"Excellent Storytelling and Narration"
Lots of great vignettes. Some of the authors I already knew well, and the new ones were great too. The narrator was excellent. He acted out each scene with distinct accents for almost all of the characters. Really well done.
"More people survive than you expected"
Damn thats harsh
Faith Marie Smith. Because, she is trying so hard to do the right thing. Yet she is a reincarnated war goddess who does one thing outfuckingstading and thats kill afflicted.
I have listened to the entire Black Tide Series - they are all done supremely well. I do not know if i have listened to Tanya Eby before but she did well.
Extreme no, Laugh yes, the conversation on the wall was straight out of you got to be fuc**ing kidding me.
John Ringo usually does four books and moves on, here is hoping that he will keep this series going a little longer.
"stand my ground.."
I really liked the idea of concurrent stories in the same universe as the Smith family. Its very interesting to see from different (authors) point of view. That being said I'm going to say the last story was still the best. Not sure if it's because John Ringo created the universe or I already knew the characters and could just be there more easily.
"All of these short stories should be novels"
Same universe from different perspectives
fantastic job by both narrators
What an extremely enjoyable listen. I really do hope some of these turn into full novels, I would buy them.
"Too many instances of dialog replacing story"
Some people probably like inane chatter, mostly devoid of story. Sure, Weber goes a bit overboard on character development, but none at all is just as bad.
Best stories are those where I had some clue to the character(s) background. So, yeah, preferred Ringo's pieces.
Was hoping to see the cheer squad storyline go a little further.
Sorry. I like longer pieces that form (or even conform to) a story and captivate my attention. I would recommend the mainline novels, rather than this.
"Wait for the real next chapter from Mr Ringo"
If JohnRingo had written the entire book
Not at all. I can't wait for Mr. Ringo's next book
Anthologies are hard. What makes Mr. Ringo's books so entertaining is his unique ability to combine humor with thoughtful military actions. Most of the other authors contributions lacked one or both. ,
"The quadrilogy is far better."
Should have left it with the 4 books by J.Ringo
these stories by other authors do not glide along as smoothly as the 4 book series. And I had high expectations after such a terrific series.
"Poor compared with the other book in series"
Maybe a good way to start the series?
Too may other writers not enough From John Ringo
Tristan was great Tanya was not!
