"Great intro to the clan invasion"
I read these books when I was a kid and still to this day love the characters. It was so much more enjoyable listening to it being performed in this audio form. Stackpole is a great writer.
"Good book. Good Series. Suffers from abridgement."
I can't complain about the reader. His performance is good and his voice is similar to that of the author's. It's the abridgment that hurts. It makes the story difficult to follow and damages its overall impact. Maybe another Battletech series would've been a better choice to record. One with fewer characters and a more linear narrative would've been easier to fit into the this three-hour format. For this reason I would've rated it even lower but this is the only Battletech series available in audio, and I enjoy the line. So if your looking for Btech to play in the car, this is it. Check it out. Then go buy the paperbacks. I'm sure Fasa and Stackpole would appreciate the shekels.
all i have say is read this book
"if you like battle tech you will love this."
if you can get passed the 80's sound effects than you will love it. it has such cheesy sound effects that can definitely be hard to get over but it is a great set of books to really get into the lore behind the clans and the clan war.
I read these books in my teens and twenty's and loved them. They were all in a box and donated without my knowing. I purchased several of them here and did not like them. The sound effects took away from the story, and a good deal of the story was left out. The few that I purchased were confusing and quite hard to listen to if you did not know the information already. If there was simply a complete copy without the effects it would be great.
