Winner of the 2002 Christianity Today Book Award! You're One Step Away from the Adventure of Your Life!
Deep within you lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus. In what ways is the Lord telling you, as he did Peter, "Come"? John Ortberg invites you to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God. The experience is terrifying. It's thrilling beyond belief. It's everything you'd expect of someone worthy to be called Lord. The choice is yours to know him as only a water-walker can, aligning yourself with God's purpose for your life in the process. There's just one requirement: If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat.

This book is both challenging and entertaining. Far too often in the self improvement genre of literature you find that there are hundreds of authors out there who take a very basic idea and stretch it into a three hundred page book that could be summarized in a page or two, without loosing any quality. Although I feel the baseline for this book is indeed simple I believe the author takes the appropriate time to make it relatable to the reader individually. I find this book to be very humorous at times as well. Which I understand is not the interested of someone who is looking to do some self repairing, but it does make the book much more engaging. It's worth the seven hours.
"Make me a walker!"
Most excellent book and enjoyed the narration immensely. Ortberg's presentation is understandable and inspiring. England's voice is smooth and comforting.
"Great narrator - Great book"
I loved how Marurice England bought life to the book. The notes at the end of the chapters are great reflection tools. This is worth listening to again
"Great reading of the book"

He's tone added inspiration
" Stepping outside the boat without fear"
"Great wisdom - a little slow at times"
Yes. This book is filled with great wisdom.
Showing Peter's willingness to get out of the boat as a triumph is a fresh perspective that the typical concentration on his failure.
"The Most Annoying Narrator, EVER"
I love John Ortberg and all his work; I own it all including the abridged version of this title. As soon as i saw unabridged version, mindlessly, i bought it. 5 minutes into the title, and I was unable to deal with Mr. England's narration and annunciation. Dr. Ortberg is a gifted storyteller and a fantastic narrator. I wish that he never allow anyone else touches his audio books and I wish that he would narrate them all. The material is fantastic; read the book in print and buy the abridged version. If you like John Ortberg and his work, stay FAR AWAY from this version of this title.
I love John's writing style ans especially love it when he reads his own books. A great book on taking risks for God.
"I want to get out of the boat!!"
Challenging, Inspiring and practical ways of putting your faith into practice and overcoming the fear that you may fail!
"A lovely book"
A very lovely book; I find the American accent somewhat irriating, however, on content I found it interesting and inspiring. The Biblical text is a bit missing leading somewhat, but just has to look at the text to whom the author is referring to, to get it right.
