In Jewish Bibles, Daniel is classified among the “Writings”, not among the “Prophets”; in Christian Bibles, Daniel is classified among the major prophets. Written sometime in the second century B.C., the story of Daniel is set in Babylon, 605-539 B.C. Read through a Christian interpretative lens, Daniel foreshadows the coming of the Messiah as well as the “end time” events in the book of Revelation. Daniel is a very important book for Jesus, who draws his self-referential title “Son of Man” from Daniel 7:13-14; who quotes directly from Daniel 12 in the Olivet Discourse; and who seals his “guilty” verdict before Jerusalem’s religious leaders by reference to the book of Daniel. "Critical prophesy book for Christians"
Dr Creasy does an excellent job at explaining the numerous prophesies in the book of Daniel. The one that lines up with Jesus riding into Jerusalem is just amazing. I also liked how he explained how the Jews consider the book of Daniel one of the "writings" and not a prophetic book in their scriptures. This study is highly recommended.
