Publisher's Summary

When Kim Fraser enters the lair of shifter Liam Morrissey to get answers for a client accused of murder, she is unprepared for her attraction to him. But her venture into Shiftertown uncovers too many secrets the shifters want kept secret. The unmated Liam is forced to protect Kim against the wrath of his clan leader and his own father.

What Liam doesn't expect when he makes the mate claim for Kim's own protection is a powerful attraction to the courageous and warmhearted human woman.

This is the first book in the Shifters Unbound series.

Narrator does well.

AUDIBLE
Still not a fan of the way shifters are treated in this world but I did enjoy reacquainting myself with this series.
BOOK REVIEW
An interesting introduction to this series.
Kim and Liam were great with hitting sparks of each other at first. The belief that they cannot be together due to the human societies attitude and laws of this time.
The world building was a bit jumpy and felt slow at times but by the end of this book I was hooked on wanting to know what was going to happen next, how these shifters are going to cope and get around the rules with the way their lives are controlled and who will be next to get a mate.
I really enjoyed the way the males once committed are committed for life. I liked the mate bond aspect and really just enjoyed escaping into this book.
Lots of interesting and likeable characters are introduced and I can see a long series coming out of this.
Have owned these books for ages but my reviews are missing. No hardship to reread them.

Annoying

I made it just under 2/3’s of the way through and decided that I really wasn’t enjoying this. I only went that far as it cost me my monthly credit. The female lead was so completely blasé in how she dealt with stressful and emotional situations, that I could not relate to her.
The one thing I did like was the position of the shifters in society - which was the oppressed minority, not the mighty alphas most authors depict. It was different approach.
