Story
Western folklore and mythology are rife with brilliantly creative, fulfilled, feisty, and furious role models for aging women, despite our culture's focus on youthfulness. In her exciting new book, mythologist and psychologist Sharon Blackie explores these archetypes, presenting them in a way sure to appeal to contemporary women. Drawing inspiration from these examples, women can reclaim midlife as a liberating, alchemical moment rich with possibility and their elder years as a path to dynamic power.

Publisher's Summary
The first volume in a stunning trilogy set in the world of Arthurian legend and told from the perspective of its traditional antagonist, Morgan Le Fay.
Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too.
Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Uther claims Morgan’s mother, the Lady Igraine as his queen.
Now, in a world of knights and chivalry where she is all but voiceless, Morgan is faced with a choice: to follow her own fierce intelligence or to submit to the limitations powerful men would place upon her. She cannot, she will not choose submission.
So begins this richly told debut from Sophie Keetch, which traces Morgan’s journey to adulthood. She will fall in love with a man saved from the sea. She will defy kings and suffer the consequences. At times she will almost despair. But ultimately she will discover a power in herself that even Merlin is awed by–a power that will give her control of her own destiny and which see her join Arthur at Camelot.
And even this is only a beginning…
Critic Reviews
"An enthralling new take on the Arthurian legend, beautifully written, superbly narrated." (The Times)
"Evocative, haunting and utterly addictive, this is a book to lose yourself in." (Tracy Borman, author of The King's Witch)
"Keetch’s Morgan does not disappoint … literally fire and a perfect harbinger of the woman Morgan is destined to become!" (Stacey Thomas, author of The Revels)
"This is the Arthurian legend as you rarely see it: told not by Uther, Arthur or Merlin, or indeed their male champions, but by the complicated woman they condemned. Keetch's Morgan is vulnerable, courageous and defiant. She makes the legend hers, and I can't wait to accompany her on the next part of the journey. For lovers of the untold story, Morgan Is My Name is a convincing and compelling read." (Lucy Holland, author of Sistersong)

Excellent Read
I had to keep listening to the end. Will definitely be buying the rest of the trilogy. I could never be bothered with the old king Arthur stories but from this point of view it is fascinating.

For any lover of Arthurian Legends
This story of Morgan le Fay is probably one of my new favorite books. It reads smoothly, the story is engaging, and her characterization of many of these Arthurian legends is fantastic and enjoyable to read. I do hope there will be more to this novel, as perfect as it is in its current standing!

Beautiful and timely! 5/5
Keetch delivers in this incredible telling of Morgan Le Fay’s story. A worthy modern companion to the classic the Mists of Avalon. I couldn’t stop reading and my heart was aching so many times for the beauty of the writing and characters.

Rich and emotive
Beautiful and smoothly told. A story that draws you in to the troubles and restrictions of being a mediaeval woman. Magical and romantic. This story gives hope and recognises how women have been slandered for their intelligence and independence and rather than praised they are seen as witches.
