Doch weitere Nachforschungen ergeben, dass die Ermordete alles andere als eine Unschuld vom Lande war und ihr Vater keineswegs nur der harmlose Apollo-Priester ist, als der er sich ausgibt. Als kurze Zeit später auch Gaeto selbst tot aufgefunden wird, ist zumindest eines klar: Die prächtigen Villen und Gärten Südkampaniens sind ebenso lebensgefährlich wie die engen Straßen Roms...
