Publisher's Summary

In this inventive and heartfelt take on a dystopian space opera, humanity’s last hope comes complete with a space station, an attitude, and …whiskers?

Civilization has fallen. The solar system is blanketed with the automated weapons of ancient wars, engineered plagues, hazardous waste, rogue AI, monsters from outside our dimension, artificial disasters, and nuclear climate change. Every moment of life on Earth is a brutal fight for survival. The people of Sol carry on, but hope is at a premium. They need something more. Someone with a plan, a savior, a hero.

What they get is Lily. Owner of the last functional battle station for the last four hundred years by right of being the last living soul on it, Lily ad-Alice has spent all that time struggling to save lives, fend off loneliness, and operate human-made weapons controls with paws and meows. Four centuries of establishing protocols, figuring out how to utilize an irresponsibly large arsenal of orbital weaponry, and scraping by with what life support still functions.

Lily doesn’t have a plan. She can’t even tell how haunted her home is. Every day is an endless stream of alarms and crises—it’s a lot for a lone desperate housecat to handle herself. But being the proprietor of the last piece of working orbital infrastructure in existence is a responsibility and duty she’s accepted anyway.

Now things are changing again. Something big is looming, and everything Lily has scrambled for hundreds of years to achieve is at risk. But if she’s quick, maybe she can do some good. If she’s cunning, maybe she can adapt. If she’s smart, maybe she can build something that lasts this time. And if she’s very, very lucky, maybe she won’t have to do it alone.

The hit science-fiction tale—with more than 900,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Highly relatable space cat adventures - world epic

I laughed. I cried, I feared for Lily as she went from being completely alone, to gaining one friend, then another, then more and more. Plot and life twisting and turning into every aspect conveyed in a perfectly cat-like way, especially one that has immortality and sentience. Maybe not hard science, but it's AMAZING science and semantic terms used to grasp something even if you don't know the terms.

Seriously, it's well worth it. The narrator did this with such character and emphasis, with careful considerations of tone. I felt immersed and nail-bit until the very end.

Heart-warming Sci-Fi

Positively charming and beautifully narrated. A supremely relatable cat protagonist, a fun story, and memorable laugh-out-loud moments.

If you're after hard or medium Sci-Fi probably look somewhere else. But if you want to immerse yourself in an utterly enjoyable cast of characters, this is a brilliant listen.

Not just about a cat!

This was an easy listen with a good twist in the storyline. Worth the credit for any fan of space combat and, well … cats 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Fabulous escape

What a beautiful story. The narrator captured the quirky and has a cat as the incredibly imaginative unrolled. That has to be my favourite e-book so far. I love the way the sci-fi was next to the simplicity of the warmth of the cat laying in the sun and the obsession with missing the taste of food was so understandable. I highly recommend this book to any one who need a good escape. Shivana

Great Book.

Absolutely loved It. The best Cat book I've ever read/ Heard. Great details when focused, and even better Tangents.

thoroughly enjoyed.

I was pleasantly surprised with how the reader spoke throughout the books with the various of characters - but she has especially done Ad Alice's voice so well.
The story was very enjoyable, there was a chapter towards the end that entirely consisted of Alice talking code commands...this was the only part I could have done without...a bit excessive is all, for a whole chapter.

Holy crap, you need to read this.

this book is cozy, and soulful, and heartbreaking, and hopefully, delightful and wonderful.

if you've read the synopsis you're probably already considering this. I can assure you it's worth it. not just a fun idea for a story, Angus sticks the landing with the dialogue and narration, and the voice actor does an amazing job
