Publisher's Summary

I know what I saw...

'The ghosts of today live not in castles or stately homes, but in ordinary houses and offices, and they're witnessed by ordinary people like you and me. We just need to figure out what the hell they are - the dead returning from the "undiscovered country" of death? Or the product of that equally mysterious and ancient location, the human mind?

This book is the story of these ordinary people who have experienced extraordinary things and want to make sense of them. Each one is a brand-new case I have never shared before; modern day ghost stories that make my blood run cold as effectively as anything that Charles Dickens could rustle up. And they are all entirely true.

It's also a story of my own personal journey of discovery because I've realised something while reading all these incredible stories that come my way. I've realised how much I want to believe. I'm asking you to join me, to keep an open mind and to prepare to have your very concept of reality challenged. Are you ready?'

Excellent but…

That review was intended to be 5stars across the three domains, so this is to rectify.

The King of Spooks

I love this audiobook so much I want to eat it. As expected by now with anything Danny Robins creates, Into the Uncanny is another fabulous example of stunning storytelling. He weaves these stories and experiences together like a master craftsman, with wit, empathy, and a contagious enthusiasm that swept me away as if I was right there with him.

It didn’t feel like a ‘normal’ audio book - it felt more intimate than that, as if I was down the pub with the author, sharing tales on a (for want of a better phrase) dark and stormy night.

5 stars isn’t nearly enough, it blew my socks off!

Exceptional as always

Loved every second of it. Would love another one with the voices of people’s stories like the podcast but them reading their part instead of being interviewed so it’s more appropriate for a book

I loved every part of this book!!

I was brought here by the podcast, I absolutely loved the podcast and I'm wasting away with anticipation waiting for the TV series to be available in Australia. This book was just brilliant, Danny has a perfect voice for audio narration and he kept me glued at every virtual turn of the page. There were quite a few moments when I gasped out loud! Job well done, can't wait for a sequel.

Masterful and bloody enjoyable

I've been listening to Danny's podcasts for a while now and I can honestly say that this book is as good or better! Danny has a way of telling a narrative that draws you in and makes you feel like he is having this conversation just with you as his partner in crime. His narration and performance really puts this well beyond a typical audio book with trademark humour, chills and perspectives from both the skeptic and believer perspectives. If you haven't listened to his podcasts then don't worry, this is a great way to meet Danny and enter the Uncanny universe. Have fun and sleep tight.

Can’t beat the podcast

But a great way to get your fix when you’ve run out of episodes. It wouldn’t be the same without Danny Robbins reading.

Amazing! Not Long Enough!

It has been a long time since I have finished a book in a matter of days. This book was even better than the podcasts if possible.
Beautifully read by the author and utterly compelling. I would give it ten stars if I could. Can’t wait for the next book.

Brilliant, fascinating, uncanny

The experiences shared would make this book unputdownable, but Danny’s narration lives it to a greater level. Perhaps the best audiobook I have listened to ..,,
