Publisher's Summary

Wendell Meyers leaves his crime-riddled past to take a road trip across the western desert, and makes a stop at the isolated Hotel California, hoping the payola scandal at his firm will simply "blow over" in his absence. He settles in to enjoy the great service and many delights offered by the mysterious resort and its staff, but is soon plagued by nightmares and waking dreams intermingled with his lavish daily indulgences.

When he attempts to leave, his visions become more disturbing, and he discovers the hotel's dark secrets as his mind begins to unravel to the point he can no longer tell reality from fantasy. Eventually, not even the beautiful Ava can ground him or detach his frenzied psyche as he becomes hell-bent on one thing and one thing only...escape.
