Publisher's Summary

One night. One contract. One kiss, and Victor Newcomb will never be the same.

By age 24, Vic has accomplished more than most men achieve in a lifetime. Since childhood he's tried to be the perfect son, the perfect executive, the perfect heir - and as next in line for the throne of his father's multibillion dollar textile empire, he's made his life entirely about discipline and control.

But he doesn't know what discipline truly means - until he meets Amani Idrissi.

University student. Part-time masseuse. Cello virtuoso. The serene, reserved Moroccan American femme fascinates Vic with his cool allure, changing everything Vic thought he knew about power, about control, about his own sexuality. Yet when cello lessons turn into a business deal of an entirely different nature, Vic quickly realizes he'll pay anything for the chance to see Amani again. To submit to his touch.

To discover the complete and utter freedom in giving up control.

But the deeper Vic falls headlong into love, the more he realizes he doesn't know Amani at all. Secretive, withdrawn, Amani seems determined to keep their relationship strictly business.

Contains mature themes.

I couldn’t warm to Amani so this dragged for me!

Polished and successful, Victor Newcomb chafes under the weight of running his father’s multibillion dollar textile empire. It’s affecting his health and at 24 yo, he’s already taking heart medications. Seeking a soothing massage, Vic is wrong-footed by Amani Idrissi, a femme cello-playing university student who funds his study with part-time masseuse work. Amani agrees to teach Vic the cello but the sessions lead to Amani providing contractual dom services at an eye-watering price as Vic learns to be a sub. While Vic pushes for more, Amani seems reluctant to let his heart take charge.

Although the writing was beautiful and Vic was sweet, I found the story dragged as Amani went on one diatribe after another, constantly lecturing Vic about his shortcomings even as Amani compromised his own stated values again and again—it all felt very hypocritical. Points for Amani ticking loads of diversity boxes, I just wish he’d been nicer. Considering Amani’s insistence on a contract, the BDSM felt like a thin veneer rather than anything of substance. 🎧 Voice artiste Joel Leslie is truly superb on the audio, juggling US, UK, and Middle Eastern accents with ease. He did great justice to the poetical writing.
