No additional material, kinda stupid when it starts to reference exercises from them and you have no idea what is being talked about. Save your money!

    "Changed my life!"

It absolutely changed my life forever. I am 19, and very truly believed I had a memory condition. Prior to listening to this book, I took an iq test, and my memory score was the worst of all my scores. Now, I really believe I could learn and remember anything. My memory has become within the span of completing this book one of my strongest traits. Not even a couple weeks and my memory has exploded in strength. In fact, I spoke to my dear friend recently and told him of this book. At that moment he was sceptical of my praise for it and the change its brought about within me. So I immediately asked him to challenge my memory. He asked me to remember 12 random words. It took me 20 seconds to remember them perfectly. He asked me to recall the words, and I did flawlessly. He was shocked to say the least.

Now I feel absolutely confident I could study and ace any degree or area of academia I desire. Thus, my life is from now whatever great story I intend to make it. How successful I want to be is unlimited.

Long story short, thank Christ I got my hands on this.

    "I don't get it"

I don’t get how this book as so many rave and dazzling reviews. For starters, not a single one of the memory techniques discussed here is new, original or ground-breaking. They have been around for decades and been taught for decades and Kevin’s recital of them isn’t new or ground breaking to create such a rave.

The main problem for me is that these techniques are great for winning memory championships but they are not so useful for everyday life as they won’t help you remember where you left your wallet, remind you of an appointment, outline directions to a place nor help you recall the events of the day.

The material can only be used to remember lists. If it could be used to remember anything else, you will not learn how in this book because all the examples Kevin provides are of lists like the list of Steven Covey’s 7 habits, Tony Robbin’s 10 Emotions of Power, United States’ first 12 presidents or the brain’s 12 cranial nerves.

Even then, the systems Kevin provides are overly complicated because to remember something as simple as a number, you have to do all sorts of conversions into pictures, sounds, or words. I mean for the number 6, you first convert it to either an elephant, sound of J, Sh, soft Ch or Soft G, or the word jaw. From there, you construct ridiculous words, sentences or stories from the converted pictures and sounds. All that to remember a simple number.

If you have dozens and dozens of facts and numbers to remember, the system will break down, you’re going to have too many rules and images in your head creating all sorts of confusion.

Kevin's book might be great for some as all these skeptical reviews suggest, but it wasn’t for me.

"Straight to the point with usable tactics"

I've been a skeptic of these "train your brain" books. The info inside unlimited memory actually "clicked" for me. & I love that Mr Horsely didn't add a pile of fluff just for the sake of running up the page count! He jumps right in & stays on course succinctly:)

....now I guess I just have to go out & practice

"Practical methods to improve your memory "

Whether you are looking for ways to remember names, numbers, texts, or whatever else you won't be disappointed. There's something in here for everyone. He walks through numerous methods for memory improvement and explains how you can store information for long term memory recall. This is sort of a different take on a self-development book, and everyone will walk away with something. Although the narration was a little fast while listening at normal speed, that can be fixed and it's a worthy read. Invest in your memory and yourself with this book.

the book is very effective and organized and also Dan Culhane (Narrate) is very good to hear from. the book contain some effective ways to strong your memory by making a link to what you want to remember whatever the link is an image or another person or place name, in general link what you heard or read to something in your mind and it is stuck in my mind what the author said "review to renew" you will find lots of this words in this book, so enjoy.

    "Exceptional"
If you could sum up Unlimited Memory in three words, what would they be?

    Succinct
    Encouraging
    Staring-Point

What was one of the most memorable moments of Unlimited Memory?

Having first been introduced to the idea of using memory palaces through Joshua Foer's 'Moonwalking with Einstein,' coincidentally, I too chose earrings to represent the accessory nerve when learning the cranial nerves 2+ years ago.

Have you listened to any of Dan Culhane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    N/A

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Unlimited Memory?

I will continue to employ the use of visual memory and reattempt to build my memory palaces with the use of additional memory aids such as powerpoint and google images and/or write out my visual translations as something to refer back to.

In the long term, using more advanced memory condensation methods may be something I attempt to experiment with. However, I would like to master some of the more basic principles first.

    Any additional comments?

As a tired and uninspired medical student making my way through the trenches of a system that tends to favor rote memorization this book was a joy to listen to. It further reminded me of why it is so important that I have a strong command over the information I am learning while providing me with hopefully realistic methods to achieve such. As I spend the next few months preparing for what are the most highly emphasized comprehensive exams of my career (USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1) I found this audiobook to be encouraging in the method of taking a step back, having fun and utilizing my inherent creativity while committing a lot of information (at least for me!) to my long term memory. I look forward to listening to this a few more times and am grateful for its existence!

    "Simply incredible"
What made the experience of listening to Unlimited Memory the most enjoyable?

The fact that this book is written in a quick, straight forward fashion making it easier to focus on. The reader is great as well.

What did you like best about this story?

I am good at mapping out information, but never figured out how to fully commit information for longer than a few weeks or months. The concepts are not hard and I am grateful for the needed direction to open my learning abilities and improving parts of my memory I thought were just going to never work well.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I love the mind mapping, pictures and relating things to your home, car, shopping. etc.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Accomplishing the impossible.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you for sharing what you have learned, Kevin. You are amazing. I have a child with dyslexia and struggles in some areas and I teach her everything I learn. Your information has been the best I have found on the subject and it wasn't so convoluted that my ADD brain had to shut off....... causing me to again, not finish another book. I love this book.

    "Great book"

    Excellent book. Really inspiring.
I haven't come across many books as this one, in which all information presented is "quality" information. There is nothing to take away. Much more than a book about memory, the author shared with us principles that can also be used for self-development: discipline, focus...
I have really enjoyed the book and really want to work on my memory.
