Publisher's Summary

In a world where magical ability is possessed by all, a mysterious conspiracy is afoot unbeknownst to the peaceful nation of Anglozia. The city of Tratfort, the largest in the south of Anglozia lies nestled on the banks of the great river Rudenfall, a tranquil, beautiful place where the inner city bustles with vibrant life. It is not enough however, for Tobias.

After seeing action in the fight against the now-defeated Wolven, he is bored and frustrated with his current guard duty. Tobias soon becomes restless, aching for adventure. Each day spent gazing over the Anglozian landscape fills him with more hunger to escape the confines of Tratfort. His sworn allegiance to the guard is forgotten as he longs for an opportunity to leave; willing to risk the penalty of death for deserters.

Tobias gets his wish, but it is through a baptism of fire that he is introduced to the freedom on the outside. He is about to embark on a perilous journey that will test his limits. The magic of his world is threatened. Is he the one to save it?
