NOW A MAJOR TV SERIES ON STAN
WHEN LOVE AND JEALOUSY COLLIDE ON THE SLOPES, WINTER BREAK TURNS DEADLY...
Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose...
It's winter break at St Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians - including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks... This year, St Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price...

Second book… still shortfalls in narration
So disappointing when you purchase audiobooks of a series you love and have read several times, to have to listen to poor narration and mispronunciations. Surely this is checked by the author or someone who knows. Narration is better in book 2 but where is Dimitri’s accent? It’s not the enjoyable experience I had hoped for.

Love love love
This is my favourite book out of all of them, there is much love and emotion from Rose.
The narrator was calling Mia, Mya. That’s was confusing especially Because the first audio book was Mia.

Good story… but some of the pronunciations are jarring.
I’ve read this series, and found that I like the series less as an audiobook, but there still good (Rise seems much brattier to me in the audio versions). The series is a great piece of escapism, I recommend it for those that like fantasy set in a potential real world setting.
Richelle Mead has a penchant for summarising key plot lines from previous books, which I find pointless in a series. Most people read them in order, the recaps are repetitive and incredibly annoying (and much more noticeable in audiobook format). They’re not written for series readers, but people that may start with the wrong book.
The narrator’s pronunciations can be quite jarring for listeners that have already read the books. She mispronounced Mia’s name (pronouncing is Mye-ah instead of Me-ah), and pronounces dhampir like vampire with a D (the author pronounces it as dham-peer). I really dislike the dhampir mispronunciation.

Frostbite
The narrator is fine but I feel like the reader isn’t right for this series.
She is also chopping and changing Mia and Mya when the characters name is Mia in the physical books
