Great listen, narrator did well in copying the characters voices from the film which in my opinion was terrific. Only complaint was the a lot of the dialogue was changed/missing compared to the film, it is a movie novelisation so I'm unsure why this happened. Also they cut all swearing, I found this odd as it's a horror book and some of the best lines had a cheeky curse word in, I could get past this until the iconic line "Get away from her you B*TCH" was changed to "Get away from her.....YOU!" lol bit anti climatic ;) overall a great listen.

Excellent as always

I generally don’t mind swearing. Sometimes I find it unnecessary, sometimes I find it very necessary. Getting rid of all the swearing in the movie novelisation is a bit much. But one bit of the story, in particular, was hurt by the lack of swearing. “Get way from her you.” Kinda sounds like Ripley is saying “I’mma hurt you.” Instead of the “Get away from my daughter!”

But other than that small thing, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the book version off Aliens. Highly recommend anyone who’s a fan of the Alien series, or just horror books in general.

Ending is a fizzer. True to screenplay and good as the Alien series is but the changed ending is a let down.

The repeated use of 'ash-er-on" a@ the planet's name instead to the correct "ak-er-on" is infuriating. when will bloody American narrators learn how to pronounce ancient words, Greek in this case.

The story is pretty true to the movie but where is the knife scene between Bishop and Hudson? Excellent performance by William Hope and superbly written by Alan Dean Foster. I enjoyed this immensely and enjoyed every second!

Great story and narration, but ads effectively nothing to the movie plot. It’s literally the movie in word form.

Being spoiled by the dramatic upgrades of Michael Crichton books vs movie upgrades, this was a bit of a let down.

Still for what it is it was a great listen. Won’t make the shelf though.

Have recently been listening to River of Pain. Much preferred that reading. Really good effects. This story really needs redoing in that style. Dirk Maggs directs these other stories really well.

I love this universe, story, screenplay and definitely the movie. I loved the little bits of additional context and slight variation in this audiobook. Despite all this, I spent the entire audiobook being distracted from immersion, by what I can only assume to be the inexplicable approach to censorship in the USA. Inserting other word in place of others that I would barely consider to be even curses, while going into the expected level of detail about bursting chests, flesh burning acid and epic gun action, is utterly ridiculous. I started to wonder if I had down-loaded a G version of the story by accident? Having listened through other books from the author, I can’t think it was his doing? Is it the person reading that chose to remove all strong language?
I’d love to know, because this ruined my experience with what may be an all time favourite story of mine.
