Publisher's Summary

Leah Buchanan's family has been in service to vampires for five centuries. Even so, Leah wants nothing to do with her family's legacy. But when she's summoned to her Selection by the Vampire Dominion, under familial pressure, she has no choice but to go.

Lucien has been living under the strict edicts of the Vampire Dominion for centuries but he's tired of these ancient laws stripping away everything that is the essence of the vampire. So he's taking it back. And this is because Lucien has been watching and waiting for decades for Leah to become available for a Selection and he will not be limited with what he can do with her. He will have her, all of her. Therefore, Lucien is going to tame Leah, even if he gets hunted and killed for doing it. What neither Leah nor Lucien expects is the strong bond that will form between them, connecting them on unprecedented levels for mortals or immortals. And what will grow between them means they will challenge their ways of life and their union will begin The Prophesies which makes them one of three couples who will save humanity or die in the effort.

"I so wanted to love this but Leah..."

I really wanted to love this book because K.A. is the best and she never disappoints...however the first 7 or 8 hrs of the book was extremely painful ALL DUE to Leah. She was painstakingly annoying. I know the point is that she is headstrong and afraid to love because she doesn't want to get hurt but MY GOD she was EXHAUSTING.

And honesty this book was a bit redundant. I'm gonna stop here because I don't want to be too negative on a K.A. book but I just couldn't act like it was all good. Let's just say Lucien kept me listening.

"Hoping their story continues in the next books"

I cannot believe I am going to make this statement about KA book but, in this particular case, I think this story ended too soon. I am hoping their story will be continued in the next couple of books because there is too much to come that was not shared. I truly think that this is likely the case. I am off to the next book, in the three, and I hope you choose to come along for the ride.

PS: My only complaint is the choice of the voice, used by the narrator, for the Heroine. It is a very immature voice for someone who holds 1/6 of the future of the world, in her hands.

    "Third Time Not the Charm"

This is the 3rd book by this enormously profligate author I have tried to read. It is the first I finished, but barely. It is the last one I will attempt.

In the first two books I tried to read I thought she was over-wordy and tried to hide the lack of real plot and meaningful characters behind overly descriptive text.

The plot of this book called for detailed description. Since it had a fantasy element she needed to do some world building. But she did very little, so it was impossible to make believable characters in a world that was apparently identical to our world, except there were demons and vampires, we just hadn't noticed coexisting with us.

And she seems to use older than average heroines, which on one level I applaud. But especially in this book, her 40+ year old main character came across as an immature and ditsy 18 year old, and that is being generous.

By the shear volume of books she has released in the last few years, she must push one out every month or so. And it definitely shows

    "40 Year Old Child"

I haven't returned a book in over two years but I'm really considering it. The only thing that made this book was the narration and the alpha male. The female is 40 years old and through the majority of the book she is childish...well she didn't seem like she was 40. I got so tired of listening to her that I mainly fast forwarded until finally I was done with the book. While the premise was good the female character was lacking. I will not be continuing this series but will continue to be a KA fan.

"What happen to the sweet strong female character KA usually have...?"

Keep hoping Leah's personality will get better, 4hrs in and she's still so rude and annoying. I usually finish KA's book in 1 sitting. This time I've to stop so many times because I'm too annoyed with Leah

    "Brilliant and unforgettable!"

My biggest complaint about this series; there are only three.

If you enjoy fics with supernaturals, look no further. These are the books you've been waiting for.

Kristen Ashley writes romances with a depth and breadth of emotion that you can't help but be moved by. Her stories and characters are not easily forgotten, and leave you wishing for more every time.

Sexy, touching, adventurous and sassy, her worlds and characters are created so beautifully, you can't help but wish they were real. I'm so thrilled Audible picked these up!

"A new take into the vampire world."

FYI The Author warns us that our Heroine is shallow, and emotionally stunted and why, not too far into the book. She evolves through some harsh realities, and with a little help from a few key characters. These character traits evidently amused the big V. If you have everything you want, what will wake an 800 plus year old vamp up.? All about making the Big V smile in a good way, if he is in the room, let alone near your throat. Evidently a 40 year old female who has tizzy fits. does the trick.. Some were lol funny some were just smugly. There are secrets that are revealed about the race but oh so slow. I kept thinking well darn, share that and avoid some of those untoward reactions. The story line is good. I am off to get the second book. The narrator is fine, just a bit of tin and tone off sets. But nothing that grated. Listen to the first chapter and you decide.. I am interested enough to see where this lands. I like the author. Just not every book. But when she hits it's outta the ball park. This one , we'll hope the second baseman is ready to run. Happy reading.

    Any additional comments?

I hated Leah! In the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the book I could not stand this 40 year old child. She got on my nerves and I wanted to smack her. She got better as time went on and Lucian and his family made this book work and the events that played out once his family came into the picture. I will get the next book in the series because the story line was good and the plot thickens still but I hope this leading lady is more likable.

    "let down"
What disappointed you about Until the Sun Falls from the Sky?

So disappointed in the development of the main female character! A 40 year old women who has the personality and perspective of a 13 year old... I was annoyed for the entire book. Ohh and on top of her "never grow up" extremely immature attitude we are also supposed to believe she is very smart with a high level job in media relations!?! WHAT?? I have really liked Kristen Ashley books in the past so I was very excited when I saw this new series... The first book was a major let down, I didn't return it because I kept hoping the author I have enjoyed reading so much in the past would kick in, sadly that never happened.

What did you like best about this story?

The general world she is trying to create has potential, but it is taking FOREVER for it to develop and to get a clear picture of what is going on. You have to wait till the epilog before you even get a sense that there's a reason to havea 2nd and 3rd book, wtf.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Abby Craden?

I have liked Abby Craden's narration for other books but really did not enjoy it on this go around, maybe because I disliked the lead female character so much. I think it would have helped if there was a male narrator in addition to her. I will not listen to the 2nd book in this series if she is still the main narrator.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointed and Really Annoyed. I think I get where the author was trying to go with the development of the female lead but she really missed the mark.

    "EPIC!!!!"

This is a fabulous book!! Listen to all the good reviews!! Yes Leah is slightly annoying but tbh Lucien is so arrogant he deserves her distrust and her being stroppy. At the end of the day folks it's very entertaining!! Best vampire paranormal I have listened to in ages!!!!
