This is a great book. What initially interested me in reading this was statements by author and my interest in both Daoism and Chinese martial arts. The story follows the life of a young boy who eventually becomes a monk at HuaShan on his journey towards enlightenment. It is both informative and entertaining. At times it reads like a childrens fairytale. I'm glad I purchased it. A must for anyone who practices Chinese Martial Arts... especially the Daoist practices like Tai Chi.
The reader did a great job with all the characters.
I listened to it at half speed. I believe it took me about 3 days during work hours. Back forth between this and other audio books.
I will purchase more by this author.
Great story. Plenty of meditation and philosophy. Great entertainment and excites a deeper interest in eastern spirituality.
"New insights after every listen"
This book reminds you that we can all live a wondrous life and that the internal work is as important as the external. Amazing. Enjoy.
I do not usually read fiction and spend most of my time reading spiritual and philosophical texts. I found this book to contain both and enjoyed this book very much.
Great story , lots of insights into Taoism , loved everything about it, ignited the flames of my own practise
"Looking forward to hearing parts two and three!"
Amazing biographic telling and beautifully read, easy to listen to and inspirational. I'm immensely looking forward to hearing parts two and three of Kwan Saihung's life story; I only hope that they release them. Also, keep an eye out for Deng Ming-Dao's other titles; Scholar Warrior and 365 Tao.
I really loved following this wonderful journey. I mainly listen to books on mindfulness, philosophy, religion and science. This story (and its much more than that) was easy to listen to and fun at the same time. Highly recommended.
