Samantha Willan is a workaholic lawyer. She’s grateful for some rest and relaxation in cottage country, and after a recent breakup she wants to stay as far away from romance as possible. Then she meets her irresistible new neighbor. There’s something strange and mysterious about his eyes. Is it just her imagination, or are they locked on her neck?
Garrett Mortimer is a rogue hunter. His last assignment united Lucian Argeneau with his lifemate, and Mortimer is hoping this one will be less...adventurous. He’s here to track down a reported rogue, but fun in the sun is every bloodsucker’s nightmare. Worse, he can’t seem to get his mind off Samantha, especially when he spies her skinny-dipping in the lake. After 800 years as a bachelor, is he ready to turn a volatile attraction into a lasting love affair?

I really like Rick Robertson reading the Lynsay Sands books.
He certainly has a lovely sexy voice which really does help!
Even though he doesn't really emphasis the charactors alot, you can still tell who is talking.
Rick Robertson really does justice to Lynsay Sands books.
As I have read all the books and heard all those
on Audible so far, I hope Audible has the sense to keep Rick Robertson as the narrator to all the books.
"Rick Robertson is the perfect fit for this Series!"
Lynsay Sands has created a fun, and interesting world here. If you like Jeanine Frost's, Kat and Bones series you will like her world too. Although the series is beginning to show signs of "contrived circumstances" (LOL, it's all contrived) as an excuse for the sex, which for me, with this one, lost some of the enjoyment of the story. I do recommend this book.
"Not Your Usual Argeneau Story."
I don't know where to begin. First off this is not an Argeneau story, even though one of the characters is of the Argeneau family but not using the last name and had a rather small part. The other characters are hunters of rogue vampyrs and are specifically looking for one that has been feeding off people in the area. Not much hunting goes on in this book, it all revolves around Mortimer and his life-mate. Which after a while got rather boring. The ending in my opinion was not very satisfying and rather dumb. If you have to read this one, get it on sale, do not waste a credit.
The reader was good,he did female voices rather well.
"Black Flies Suck… Literally"
The narrator, Rick Robertson, of course! He always does an excellent job and has a great sense of comedic timing.
I have heard him narrate other books in this series, and he did an excellent job on them as well.
I think the most moving part for me was when Mortimer (and just a side note here who would ever think that a guy named "Mortimer" would ever be the lead character in a book, and we would root for him to get the girl) finally realized that Sam (Samantha) was his Lifemate, despite the fact that she didn't want anything like what he always thought she would.
"Love these books!"
I love these books by Lynsay Sands! Her way with writing the characters can't be beaten! You really get to know the characters.
The stories are exciting and sexy! Enjoy!
Pretty good book. dragged a little in a few spots but over all was a good book
"A bit boring"
Who reads anymore... I currently have 552 audible books in my library (I don't have time to read).
This one was a bit boring... not the normal 'Argeneau' book, and no returning characters from the other books. This book could be read as a standalone and would not be missed if it were removed from the series completely. I've always liked how the series linked the characters together and that is completely missing from this book.
Rick Robertson is a good narrator and does well in this series. That is one thing that bugs me a bit, there are six different narrators for this series so far... find a narrator and stick with them.
No extreme reaction I just wanted to hurry to get through the book, which is never a good thing, so I could read another book.
Buy the book on sale or skip it completely (you won't be missing anything as far as continuity with the series)!!!

"Sam is no "Olive Oil""
Yes ! Its easy to read and a lot of fun!
Mortimer is such a nice guy and Samantha is a lot tougher than we think....
Yes and like him as a narrator... He does a great job...
Yes when Mortimer realises he loves Sam....
Its great seeing how the boys and girls get together.
"Story so-so, narration not even that good"
The narrator's voice for men was almost identical to his voice for women. It was awful! Plus, he paused for way too long, way too often, and it was just awkward. I'm not a fan.
The author could have made the characters less one-dimensional. Perhap I would have cared about them more. Plus, for being centuries-old vampires, it was amazing how ignorant they were and how many stupid decisions they made. They should be far wiser, having walked the earth for hundreds of years, and yet it's as if they've never encountered humans before and haven't thought anything through. I just couldn't buy into it.
"The Rogue Hunter"
I found this somewhat of a disappointment - especially as there were no Rogue Vampires lurking in the undergrowth. Come to that, not much hunting, if one discounts the obligatory sexual element.
