    "Excellent Western Romance!"

I LOVED this story! The romance is very well developed and the sexual tension was hot! The story and the narration were both passionate, intense and very interesting. I can't believe that the rest of the series is not available. Please add more books by this author!!!

    Story
"The Rancher and the Medium - Hot Stuff!!!"

Sylvia Mc Daniel conjured up a story that makes us laugh, cry and empathise with Desiree/Rose as she struggles to make a life for herself in spite of her chaotic upbringing. She's feisty and no nonsense and can stand up for herself, until Travis appears.

Travis is all for family and is so attracted to Rose but cannot entirely trust her. His Mom wants grandchildren and to see her boys married and settled, so she will stop at nothing to make that a reality and runs a scam to entice the two main characters into getting to know each other. It's a cause for mayhem and chaos in the lives of the characters, but the story is funny, with lots of laughs and all's well that ends well.

The supporting characters are well thought out and the plot thickens as the story emerges. Once you start listening you just want to continue to the end.
This book was superbly written and I recommend it to other readers and listeners.

I look forward to what else Sylvia McDaniel has to share, as this book is a 'keeper' and favourite. Really great reading.

Listening to Robin Rowan was a wonderful experience as she portrayed the various characters via her voice. I'm impressed. You go girl.

    "unimaginative ending"

The story was okay but the ending was unimaginative and disappointing. Furthermore I resent being forced to add nine more words.

    Story
    "predictable"

The story seemed to keep repeating and there was not much to the plot. Rose was so forgiving of everything.

    Story
"The narration sounded as if it were computerized"

If I didn't know any better, I would say that the male voices were spoken by a computer. The story wasn't very memorable either. This one is not worth a credit ... or the time necessary to listen.

    Story
"Can you tame a grumpy cowboy?"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, if they were into western romance without gunfire and explosions.

What aspect of Robin Rowan’s performance would you have changed?

Robin has a gentle whisper toned voice that made the female character sound a little like a simper, the male character voice was good but more strength of emotion in the story would have been good.

Do you think The Rancher Takes a Bride needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, Travis finally made the right choices at the very end and I could not go through that stubbornness and stupidity again.

    Any additional comments?

Sorry, I couldn't relate to these characters and didn't like either of them. The story was good but it's hard to get into a story about characters you dislike.

    Story
    "The Rancher takes a wife"

The overall story was a good one. I just wanted smack Travis through most of the story. He was such on over bearing brute to Rose. I wanted to see Rose have him locked up as pay back!!! I also wondered how far Travis mother was willing to let thing go before she spoke up too!

    Story
    "A bit dull"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I liked the beginning of the book but the story was very slow and dragged out. The couple spent the entire book being at loggerheads with one another and I found their constant bickering and mistrust to be repetitive and monotonous.

Have you listened to any of Robin Rowan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to any of Robin Rowan's other performances but I would happily listen to another based on her narration of this book. I liked how she did different accents, including French and she was able to do male voices convincingly.

    Any additional comments?

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
