Caderyn is the sexiest - and perhaps craziest - man Bridget has ever laid eyes on. He may have rescued her from death, but who's going to rescue her from him? With all the right moves, the man is a walking seduction that's too hard to resist. Sparks fly. Desires heat. But there's one small problem. He claims they're trapped in the lost city of Atlantes, living on a cursed island deep within the ocean.

"Something lurks under the Sea."
Yes I would . Why? Majority of my friends love paranormal and hot romance.
I have only read one other series with merman. And it was nothing like this one.
Yes. Rebecca does a fantastic job of narrating.
I tried but it's a little long. But it is so good
I was gifted this audible for my honest review.
"a good listen, main female character is too much"
Hard to answer as i have listen to so many. This has a good story line. It is well performed not just read. The characters are well developed and the main female totally irritated me.
I think when the ship went down and Hunter saved her by breathing for her and taking her to his world.
Not that i am aware of but she did very well, even with the male characters.
Yes, i wanted to strangle the main female. The lack of acceptance of where she was and what her life would be now, becomes old. She appears to lack common sense too.
Ms Pillow has a tenancy to create female characters that are very defiant and it goes on and on in this book. This is not the first book she has written that I wished to strangle the main female. It reminds me of spoiled brats with no common sense. Yes, you have a scientist, she is unbelieving or unaccepting of what she is told, runs off too see for herself. Stubborn, yes. A little of this goes a long way. Yes i will continue reading Ms. Pillow but i wish she would create a different personality for her main female character.
i liked the story overall. but the heroine got on my nerves at times. i would recommend thos book.
"Wanted to love but couldn't"
I loved Michelle Pillow Dragon Lords and Lords of the Var Series but I couldn't really get into this one. I wanted to, but it seem like all of her books have the same theme and I was just tired of the same plot. If I listed to this one first maybe I could of finished the book.
"Sexy mermen and whiney women - possible spoilers"
I was a little nervous about this book because some other reviews say the heroine is a bit whiney, but I gave it a shot anyway. I have to say that I agree, the heroine can be whiney, doesn't accept her situation, and even when she *says* she does, really she doesn't. All that said, I continued on with the story because despite the heroine being a little impulsive and making some really stupid decisions, the rest of the story was alright. Michelle Pillow excels at her love scenes and heroes being super sexy men. There is no question that this book is intended for mature audiences only, because, wow, just wow. The hero unfortunately conforms to some of the typical devices employed for "fish out of water" stories (yes, pun intended heh). He doesn't tell the heroine what is going to happen to her, doesn't communicate with her, and doesn't really explain much of the dynamics of where they are. I have seen this in alien races, paranormal shifter books and now, mermen books. I gave this book a 3 star overall review, but I'd really like it to be a 3.5. The narrator Rebecca Cook was very good, even though she sounds a bit like Allison Janney at times.
"Cool Mer World with a Hot Romance"
The narrator did an excellent job, and brought the story to life.
Caderyn is my favorite. The performance for him brought out his strength and his bit of childish wonder.
Full Review -
I loved that this book is about Mer people! It was awesome that the setting was in a city deep in the ocean, and I liked the story that went along with why the Mer are there. Bridget is a scientist on a boat, who has dreams of studying the deep sea, when her boat is attacked, and she is taken to an underwater city by a Merman named, Caderyn. Caderyn is a fine Mer specimen, but Bridget is really unsure about being in this Mer kingdom. Caderyn feels an attraction to Bridget, and has hopes that Bridget will choose him to be mates with. Bridget doesn't handle any of this well, and I was really getting ticked off at how inconsiderate she is, and for a scientist, she makes a lot of stupid decisions, assumes way too much about how she is going to be treated without any evidence to make her think that way, and flies off the handle, so she comes across as bitchy and rude. Caderyn does put her in her place at times, which I was definitely happy about! She definitely needed to be brought down a peg. That's really my only critique, well, there is also all the butt talk that I could've done without, and also the pleasure nymph scene; I would've been happier if it was just eluded to, but the rest of the book was interesting and fun. The sex scenes were hot, and it was lots of fun to see how the Mer people live, and it was cool to see the landscapes in the Mer world. I like that there is a bit of adventure in this book, and the story is unique. Caderyn is a sweetheart, who is a Saint for putting up with Bridget. Bridget does have her moments, and Caderyn and her do have some really sweet moments. This is the first book I have read by Michelle M. Pillow, and I would love to read more! I'm looking forward to the next book in this series! I also listened to the audiobook of this story, and I think the narrator did an excellent job! She even did the moans during the sex scenes!
"A little cheesy but a good read"
I enjoyed this book although at times I wanted to strangle the two main characters. I would recommend this book.
"Really A good book."
This was a good read all the way through. Loved the readers voice and interpretation of each character, can't wait to read the next book.
"Under the sea"
What do you get when you put a scientist and merman togeher? You will have to listen to find out? Brigette's boat gets attacked by a sea monster that destroys the ship. The mermen hunting it save Brigette and another scientist by taking them to Atlantis in depths so deep that have never been explored. Now they have to stay. This is the story of Brigette and Caderyn .
"A questionable rescue."
This first book in the series is an exciting, history, fantasy world of characters you love and can't forget.
I am often disappointed with female narrations when they try to sound like males. She did a fantastic job and I loved each character and the way she distinguished between them.
I am such a Michelle Pillow fan and of all the wonderful M Pillow worlds, the Abyss is my favorite. Caderyn is a mighty hunter, he is also a mirman. Yep. Destined to live in the underworld of Alantes he has rescued Bridgett. Now getting her to believe is his task, and fighting his desire for her. Of course, since he's the hottest man she's ever seen, even if he makes about as much sense as going fishing without a fishing line, she feels the same—doesn't want to want him but can't help it. Their living adventure is sometimes a hoot, and sometimes touching with some drama thrown in. I loved it and wouldn't miss it. Adding the audio to the book I read a couple of years ago was a great experience. Don't miss this one, great story, characters and narration.
