About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Winner of the 2016 Audie Award for Audiobook of the Year.

Includes an exclusive extract from Paula Hawkins' scorching new thriller A Slow Fire Burning, read by Rosamund Pike.

Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She’s even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. ‘Jess and Jason’, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy.

And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough.

Now everything’s changed. Now Rachel has a chance to become a part of the lives she’s only watched from afar.

Now they’ll see; she’s much more than just the girl on the train....

This was such a great book i loved it so much I listened to it day and night. I was losing interest at the start but then it took a twist you wouldn't of thought it would. Overall it was the best book I have ever read (better than The Fault In Out Stars) :) <3

Breathtaking

Amazing crime thriller that I could imagine being made into a movie. The emotions portrayed in the book are very confronting and then performances of the narrators are great.

One issue I had was the depressing nature of one of the key characters life which had me feeling quite negative after each listening session.

Overall a great read.

Harrowing novel.

A great story. Entertaining.
Rachel narrator was a bit intense the whole way though. I would have liked to hear some light and shade as on occasion I avoided turning it on again as she was already an annoying character and then that relentless intensity on top was too much at times.

Solid.
