"Sometimes you finds your destiny on the road you take to avoid it."
"Nobody does epic romance like Santa Montefiore. Everything she writes, she writes from the heart." ( Jojo Moyes)
"A gripping romance... It is as believable as the writing is beautiful" Daily Telegraph on The Summer House
An ideal beach book, easy to follow and an unchallenging plot. If you like romance then you'll love it as it has romance in bucket loads, loves lost, won and happy endings. Some of the descriptions are beautifully written though and her characters are all very pleasant.
It was all a little too twee and predicatble for me though, and the romances between Grace & Rufus, and Trixie & Jasper a little too intense given that they hadn't spent much time together.
Would I choose another Santa Montefore, I'm not sure.
The narration was a little irritating in parts too, the accents were a bit corny.
The range of characters and the way fate stepped in.
Trixie, I also really liked Big.
I was moved a few times throughout the book.
I really enjoyed this book, loved the story and the way it spanned different eras, generations and countries. It all came together brilliantly.
"Glad I stuck with it"
I was ready to return this as I found the early chapters verbally annoying however once I got past this part really enjoyed the story and the narrator
The performances were good, but the story failed to convince me. I kept thinking: "really?"
The narrators voice grated on my ears and story was slow.
Im not sure. I tried to keep listening but gave up after 8 chapters
"Loved this book!!!"
This book provided a mixture of emotions; joy, sadness, laughter, empathy...
Santa Montefiore never disappoints!
Fantastic narration and, by far, my new favorite!
A lovely voice to listen to and a fabulous story.
The plot was intricate enough you keep you guessing, with not too many characters (for an audio book); so it was easy to follow.
An enchanting story - that left me surprisingly content at the end, suffered a book hangover though only because I didn't want to taint the feeling I was left with. I thoroughly recommend.
"A nice story"
I eventually enjoyed this story, as it came to its conclusion, however found it slow to get going, I would recommend that you bear with it as all improves.
"A lovely romance"
I loved this .it had intrigue. Hope and much more.just the sort of story to get lost in .looking forward to the next one
"Twists and turns"
I really enjoyed listening to this book, I especially loved the ending was in expected and the twists in between. Defiantly worth a listen.
"The Beekeepers Daughter"
Yes I would recommend this book to a friend. It held my attention and was really interesting
When mother and daughter find out their love for a father and son
She was extremely good and gave so many different accents
An amazing love story which spanned two generations
Very informative about bees and hives!
