New York Times best-seller and number one in romance.
You're not supposed to want the one who torments you. When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn't prepared for how much of a jerk he'd be.
I hated that he took it out on me because he didn't want to be here. I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room. But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.
At first I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard, tattooed abs and chiseled face. But things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night. Then, just as quickly as he'd come into my life, he went back to California.
It had been years since I'd seen Elec. When tragedy struck our family, I'd have to face him again. And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane. I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.

"I loved Every. Minute."
The storyline is fresh and the writing exquisite.
Not sure-- This was the first book I have read like this.
Too Many to list out.
Yes. I couldn't consume it fast enough. Amazing story!
Last week I won an audio copy of this book from the author. I expected to listen to this throughout the week, as time allowed. My friends have been sharing how much they love this book so I knew it would be good. I was in no way prepared for the journey I was embarking on. I never expected to be completely enthralled—gripped in the clutches of the pages. So much so that I had to one-click the ebook copy as well. I couldn’t put it down.
In the last 24 hours I have laughed and cried. I have been a nervous and sexually frustrated teen, a heartbroken girl having her first taste of love, a strong willed woman refusing to give into her urges—basically a complete emotional basket-case. And to tell you the truth, I loved Every. Single. Minute of it.
I was never one to buy into the “stepbrother” books. I couldn’t see the appeal. I had a stepbrother in my teenage years and I can’t imagine the allure. With that said, if all of those “stepbrother” books are written this well-- sign me up!
This book is real, raw and gut-wrenchingly beautiful. The depiction of emotions and teenage angst is exquisite. These characters are complex and relatable. The world fades away and the words suck you in to this amazing book.
The ending is perfection. It completes the story, but still leaves you reeling and wanting more. These are characters that will stick with you long after their story is done.
"Wow is all I can say. "
this book had it all I was laughing, crying, and cringing with the charaters. the ending was perfect and the story has so many twists that it wasn't the typical stepbrother story. loved it a definite must read then reread. the narrator was perfect.
"5 GREAT ALL AROUND STARS!!!!"
I really enjoyed this book!!! The characters have a great history so it's not instant, first plus for me! The story is original, second plus for me! There is no cliffhanger, third plus for me...and that's only a few reasons! The writing was great, the story was gripping and the ending was perfect! I can't think of 1 things that i didn't really like about this book!
The narrator did an amazing job and really helped bring this story to life! book + narration = 5 stars!!!! I will be looking for more works by both the Author and Narrator!
"All I can say is wow"
This book is one of my all time favourites, if not my favourite book so far in 2015. It was well worth all the lost sleep. I liked how you heard the story from both sides and you don't have to wait for the next book to come out to hear it from the man's point of view.
I was skeptical of this story being that it's about step siblings but I was pleasantly surprised. The story was angsty but good. the only thing that I didn't like was how the author covered Elec's point of view. It was very repetitive. Also Greta was kind of weak, I liked her character but I found myself wishing she would stand up for herself. Overall I liked it a lot
"Better than expected"
I'm familiar with this authors work so despite the title and my concerns it could be weird given the step relation I gave it a shot. So glad I did. Way better than I expected. In fact, it might just be my favorite from this author yet.
"I found this read lacking ....."
Stepbrother stories are usually not my thing ... after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. DON"T. I do not mind stories that are drawn out when the writing/story is worthy of the tale ... this is not one of those books. This story is long. I skipped a head toward the end just to get through it. There is a HEA ... but even that was flat. The whole story fell flat. The narration was fine. I would not use a sale or a credit for this book.
I did the audio book for Room Hate and loved it so much, I needed another one of Penelope's books in audio. This one did not disappoint. I didn't give the story 5 *'s cause there were a few tiny things I didn't care much for, but still enjoyed the story tremendously. Would recommend. I would love to know what their lives are like after Cameron. Guess that's what makes a great book, keeping you wanting more of the characters you grow to love.
"OMG So Hot I Loved It"
This was a great book. I absolutely loved the characters they were so easy to fall in love with. The author knows how to write because this book made me feel like i was right there with them the entire time. This book captured me from page 1 and i literally didn't want to push stop or put it down i had to find out what was going to happen. You know it's a great read when it can make you laugh out loud, have you wanting to cry and make you so mad you want to yell lol and this book had it all. If you haven't read or listened to this i highly recommend you do it won't disappoint. I also really enjoyed the narrator who read this book she did great portraying the characters. As for the author i will definitely be reading more of her stories soon.
I wasn't sure when I first started if I would connect with the characters but even in the first chapter it wasn't boring. instantly I was fascinated with the personalities of the characters and where the story would take me.
I'm not one for repetitive repeats in stories but after I was done I felt that it was a way to help understand the leading guys role on a personal level.
I fell in love with it to the point I finished the book in one day I couldn't stop listening.
"What a ride"
Loved this book found my self wanting to jump forward to see what happens. I'm exhausted because I couldn't stop until it was done.
It's a journey of tears and laughter. x
"already had the book"
I read the book a year or 2 ago, and had forgotten lots of it, so this was a nice easy listen. the narrator was very good carried off the male and female role really well.
"Brilliant book. "
What a brilliant book. It's been a long time since I've listened to a book from start to finish in a 24hr period. I only had 4hrs sleep, just so I could listen to "one more chapter".
Loveable charaters, excellent story, great twist and a satisfying ending. It's the type of book you can listen to/read again and again.
I'll be looking for my next book from this author straight away!
I so enjoyed this book and its twists and turns. Highly recommend you wont regret it
"Depth of story"
This was an excellent read. A very believable plot and characters were very easy to like. There was great story that was gripping from start to finish.
This is hands down one of the best books in this genre!
Loved the book and this audio version is just as good
"ok but predictable "
the story over all was ok but it is very predictable and as stated by others the autobiography bit was boring
