Rod Nelson is used to being someone's good time, and that's fine with him. Spending his days at his adult toy store, Rods-N-Ends, he never knows who he'll meet. The second Landon Harrison walks in, he has Rod's full attention. It seems as if Landon wants him too, so why won't the man jump in the sack with him already?
Landon never thought he'd return home to the town where memories lurk around every corner. He has to admit, Rod makes the adjustment a lot easier. He keeps Landon laughing. Despite the fierce attraction between them, he's not willing to risk his newfound friendship to get laid.
Neither man wants something serious, but the more they're together, the harder it is to keep their hands to themselves, until eventually they stop trying.
But flings between friends are never simple, and as they attempt to shift gears, diving into their first relationship, they're slammed with setbacks. If they want to truly move forward, before they hit the open road together, they're going to have to let go of a past that could make them crash and burn.

"take a chance"
don't really want to compare because yes some of the previous characters from another story are used..the fact is Landon and Rod are there own men with there own story
the way that he always lets u know who he is, he never makes u think you will not know who is speaking as
i laughed and I cried but I also related soon much to there story and because of that I knew these guys
I hope Mr Hart keeps writing because his passion and his love are fantastic and he is one hell of a story teller
"Great story, annoying narration"
I love the simple, beautiful story, but the narrator's fake, squeaky attempt at sounding feminine when reading the lines of the women (and the bottom!) annoys the hell out of me.
I enjoyed the story. I've pretty much loved all the Riley Hart books. But I was turned off by the way Sean Crisden chose to give voice to Rod. High pitched, loud and nasally. Nothing sexy about that. But still, the story is a good one and I did listen to the entire thing.
"Don't love the reader, but a great series"
The reading of Rod's voice is annoying, and makes it hard to like the character
A really lovely story, with a great original plot. I enjoyed it immensely. The characters' motivations were fascinating and relatable, making this a read I was easily swept up in.
Sweet story. I love that although it was centered around Landon and Rod, we got to see Bryce and Nick.
Although it's a standalone, it was nice to catch up with Nick and Bryce from Crossroads.
Rod is funny, but a little damaged and Landon, although a little uptight at first, loosened up as the story progressed. The narration was good, although I wasn't fond of Rod's voice (also it was quite similar to Landon's mum). Overall, I would listen again.
"Ride it out with 5 Star Riley Hart!"
5+ Stars!! I F.Loved This Book!!
This is book two in the Crossroads series, and Riley Hart has written a brilliant book! This book has everything, two amazing MC, lots of chemistry, motorcycles, hot as hell sex, dirty talking, comedy, a very hot slow-burn, and supporting characters that we already love! What more could you want? This series is a must read for all! Rod Nelson, he is the life of the party always has a joke and isn't afraid to have a good time, he isn't looking for love only a good time and he has no trouble finding that. Something changes when Landon Harrison visits his adult toy store, for the third time in as many weeks looking for his favorite lube, Easy-Ride. Yes, he can admit he wants Landon.. and he wants him badly!
Landon, having just moved back home for his sisters wedding now finds himself living with his mom again after years of living on his own, this is an adjustment to say the least. Landon finds himself visiting Rods-and-Ends on a weekly basis, he finds himself drawn to the witty man who works behind the counter. Landon makes no apologies for his healthy sex-drive, he enjoys both males and females - but as he continues to get to know Rod he finds that he is enjoying their friendship so much he is afraid to let it progress to something more - he doesn't want to lose Rod.
As the sexual tension keeps building and these two MC become inseparable, they find they have a lot more in common besides wanting to jump each other. Landon and Rod both come to depend on each other and help each other out, such as Rod hooking Landon up with a connection to Bryce who is looking for a motorcycle mechanic and then Landon volunteering to teach Rod how to ride a motorcycle.. they really do become friends-before-lovers. This is not for all of Rod's trying to get them to sleep together, as he so eloquently puts it.. if they would just get it out of their system then they could be "just friends" -- but life never works out that way, does it?
When Landon finally gives in to Rod after fending him off for a while... these two are explosive!!
But what happens after they have sex? Will Landon now walk away? He has admitted he never stays friends with people he sleeps with? What about Rod, can he deal with yet another person turning their back on him? You will just have to get this book and find out.. and let me tell you it's an amazing ride!! So hang on... and come "Shift Gears" with Landon and Rod while Riley Hart keeps your heart racing to the ending!!
The audio-book of this story was amazing Sean Crisden did not disappoint with his flawless narration and storytelling ability. I would recommend Riley Hart or Sean Crisden to anyone who wanted a great story and perfect narration!
"Love this series and this narrator!"
We met Rod in book one – he’s the guy who sells Nick and Bryce their first sex toys. He’s brash and brazen and out and proud. He’s decided to branch out on his own and open his own shop, Rods-N-Ends and that’s where he meets Landon.
Landon is a motorcycle mechanic who moves back home to help his mom after his sister moves out and he’s at loose ends. He doesn’t have friends around from high school, no job and he’s bored. He meets Rod one day and is intrigued – but… he needs a friend more than a f**k, and he doesn’t do relationships, so he ignores Rod’s flirting and pushes for friendship instead.
Though Rod is relentless in his pursuit of Landon as a sex partner, the two become friends and soon they’re practically roommates, too. But the sex thing still lingers… until one day a line is crossed… now they don’t know how to act around each other and it’s ruining their friendship…
Though not as delicious as book one, this is another fantastic story from the fabulous Riley Hart.
Rod is a great character and I had really high hopes for him. Those expectations are met to a certain extent, but there is this missing … something… that makes him a little more “flat” in this book.
I never quite reconciled Rod’s upbringing and Landon’s refusal to have a relationship. Though I know they’re best friends, they didn’t have quite the emotional cross-over into lovers that Bryce and Nick did. I really wanted Landon and Rod to dig deep and find all those hidden demons and exorcise them together – instead Landon’s father and his drama sort of took precedence and we didn’t get to focus on Rod’s issues.
It’s a small complaint though, really, because this is still a very fun, sexy and sweet love story and it’s unfair to compare it to it’s predecessor because both are absolutely wonderful. (Crossroads was just so over the top amazing that it’s hard to follow it.)
I highly recommend this to fans of the series, the author, friends-to-lovers fans, and sweet, sexy romantics.
4.5 of 5 stars
Sean Crisden did another wonderful job with this narration. MAN! I love listening to him so much! I thought Landon was very well portrayed and I enjoyed his low, growly voice. Rod was a much lighter and more flamboyant and Sean did a nice job with his character as well. He does a fair job with women’s voices and it’s always easy to tell whom is speaking. To me, Sean’s forte is his grasp of timing and his ability to handle the emotions well – from passion, to anger, to fear and despair.
Overall 4.5 of 5 stars
"Humorous and sexy"
I enjoyed it but not as much as Crossroads. I mainly listened to the audiobook but I didn't like much Rod's voice, found it too nasally and fake. I appreciated the humor, the dirty talking and some hot sex scenes, but the family drama was a bit tiring.
"Really good story"
The characters and storyline is well written and developed. Great listen. Really enjoyed it :)
