Matthew "Wolf" Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn't have to do it very often. He'd been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside. When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she'd ever seen. She also never expected he'd be so easy to talk to. She knew he'd never be interested in talking to her if he hadn't been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride. Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she'd see, or need, Wolf, she'd be sorely mistaken.

This book is awesome!! There was the right amount of balance between suspense and romance to hold my interest all the way through. There were no slow spots, and no boring spots. The story line is really interesting. I wish I was as brave as Carolina!
The reader has a really nice voice, and she did a nice job at changing her tone for each person.
"Thriller and Romance in one"
Listened while commuting. Couldn't wait to get out of work to hear more.
Very likeable characters
"Great narrater! Stella Bloom"
I wish Stella Bloom would read my other favorites by Susan Stoker. She was great!
Chapter list did not sync with narrative. Disappointing when I wanted to rejoin where I left off.
I've just discovered this author and really enjoyed this book. It had everything I like in a book - action, intrigue, romance, wonderful characters and a plot which moves steadily along making it difficult to do anything but keep going, anxious for what's next. ( I listened in one sitting!). I'm delving into the next book right away!
"Almost a hit, but ..."
Really enjoyed this until the last third when SPOILER ALERT Caroline gets tortured. That was too over-the-top violent and not necessary. Up until then, I could sync with her character. After that, not so much. Also, after her rescue and beginning recuperation, the story ended somewhat rushed. I know there's a further episode w Caroline & Wolf, but there could have been more in this book of the two of them living without the craziness.
Once again, Stella Bloom is a fantastic narrator, heads above most others.
"Action and romance"
Enjoyable military romance with lots of action, adventure and a sweet love story. I listened to the audio book and read in one afternoon and evening.
"Great start of a series"
Carolina's story May be my favorite. I think Susan Stoker put a lot of herself into the character and that's what made her so real and likeable.
I have listened to this audio book more than once
Wish Stoker's books would be made into movies.

What a mixed bag. There were many things to like about this book. The plot was action-packed, the SEALs were awesome. I even enjoyed the heroine, even if she was a bit too down on herself.
The problem lies in the writing, but primarily the editing. Some examples are: the author uses proper names too much. She used Caroline well over 500 times, and between Wolf and Matthew, well over 700. Ms. Stoker switches POV from one sentence to another, which makes it extremely difficult to keep track. The good news is she writes fantastic suspense scenes that kept me reading on. Another issue was, in the beginning, there is quite an information dump. The story should have started when the hero and heroine meet on the plane. She also made it confusing when she had Caroline insisting on calling the SEALs by their given name instead of their SEAL handle. I could understand why she wanted the heroine to call the hero Matthew, but not the rest of them
If you are able to overlook the technical issues, you will enjoy this clean, action-packed romance with great chemistry between Wolf and Caroline. I know I certainly did. Happy reading!
"Invisible or invincible."
Yes, I am personally a fan of SEAL stories. I love the team work, and yeah, sexy guys are always great to read and dream about. This one has the excitement, the great guys, however, the woman is very different. She's never noticed, she's not special or stand out but she is if you take the time to know her. Wolf does.
Ice/Caroline. Her attitude was different and she needed what these guys offered.
It was a good credible performance.
Why would the bad guys go after an ordinary woman like Caroline? Why would the drop your drawers sexy guys want Caroline? How does a chemist play such an important role? And most of all, can she believe in herself as much as this team believes in her? A different SEAL story with an ordinary woman as the bravest of them all.
