It was a mismatch made in heaven: innocent girl from the boonies moves in with tattooed, pierced, bad-boy engineer.
I came up with a bet, a plan to tutor her in math and coach her through her phobias. What I wasn't betting on was becoming addicted to her.
But I was living a double life on weekends, and once she found out about it, she'd be gone.
I had to protect myself, and that meant one thing: I couldn't fall in love.
Author's note: This is not an exact retelling of Jake Undone. While pivotal scenes from Jake Undone are retold from Jake's point of view, Jake Understood is its own story that includes all-new material from both the past and present time where Jake Undone left off.

I already loved Jake Undone and now I adore this book from Jake's perspective too! The story is complex enough to draw you right in and keep you hanging on the words. Excellent narration also makes this an audiobook worth listening to.
Penelope Wards books just keep stringing you along and adding heart stopping surprises with not know how things are headed, it's like a roller coaster ride that you never want to end! ADDICTIVE!! 🙃
"Love these characters and I want more of them!"
The narrators were terrific for this story. You could tell that they weren't just reading words from the page. It seemed as if they understood the characters and the story.
At the end in the elevator.
I really enjoyed them both equally!
It was so nice to see the whole gang back together. I definitely thought it was great to see Nina finally accept Ivy and the reasons that Jake needed to follow through on his promise.
Some of the best stories and audiobooks that I've experienced.
"Great audio book!"
I listened to both Jake books by Ms. Ward. Loved them both even though Jake Understood has quite a bit of repeat information from the first book I loved it because it had been a while since I listened to it and everything here is from Jake's POV. Love Jake!
If only everyone could find someone like that. In the long run it's only words.
This was an entertaining book for easy listening. I like the narrator very much.
