Even worse is the financial pressure A.J.'s banking family brings to bear on Keeley's interior design business. But riding to the rescue, in a vintage yellow Cadillac, is the redheaded stranger who's bought a failing local bra plant. Will Mahoney hires Keeley to redo the derelict antebellum mansion he's bought. Her assignment: decorate it for the woman of his dreams, a woman he's never met.
Only a designing woman like Keeley Murdock can find a way to clear her name and give her cheating varmint of an ex-fiance the comeuppance he so richly deserves. And only Mary Kay Andrews can deliver such delicious social satire. With Hissy Fit, she's created a story as outrageous, dishy, and true as Savannah Blues and Little Bitty Lies.

"Mixed in with the mystery and romance is a liberal helping of comedy, thanks to Isabel Keating's delightful, down-to-earth, and completely Southern vocal characterizations." (AudioFile)
"This is the third Andrews title...and it's obvious she's on a roll....Andrews' descriptions of antique furniture and heart-pine flooring are so lush and appealing that they will seduce even the decorating-challenged. Throw in the idyllic southern setting and the humorous, often-scintillating banter, and you've got yourself another winning read." (Booklist)
"Darker than the book's fluffy title suggests, this black comedy is riven with shocking secrets. And Keeley's vast knowledge of all things antique offers a fascinating peek into the luscious world of designer home furnishing, sure to make readers drool with envy over sideboards and sofas." "Good story, but a Southern narrator is better"
I listened to this book from the library and from Audible. I liked the library version read by Moira Driscoll a lot better than Audible's reader.
Aside from the narrator, this book was a nice, light, summer read with smart women at the center of the story.
"Great MKA story - Hissy Fit for me Yes!"
Again, this is another great story by Mary Kay Andrews, but this audiobook was a disappointment. First, I would recommend the audiobook if you want an abridged version to a MKA story - you will not be disappointed.
However, if you are like me and enjoy the back story to the typical MKA book then you are going to want to throw a hissy fit on this one. I REALLY wished that you were offered to buy the abridged or unabridged version of these books. If that is not feasible then MKA books really need to be unabridged. The back story provides so much information.
Isabel Keating who narrates a majority of the MKA books usually is great in bringing the story to life. However, this reading left me exhausted because it seemed to be read rapidly and over emotional.
My review seems to be negative, and that is not what I am trying to be, but I am now buying the book version and having to read it to answer a lot of my questions about the characters.
"A miss on the Southern accent"
I love Mary Kay Andrews and her books, I just wish they could find someone who is actually from Georgia to read them.
It was a bit short for the price but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. There was so much more to the story than I expected at first glance, and I look forward to reading more by this author!
"Very entertaining !!"
I enjoy Mary Kay's light hearted stories and especially pleased with Isabel's narrating! Thank you
"I thought it was amazing"
I absolutely loved this book. Many surprises and loved the narrator
Would recommend it to any one
"Such a fun Charater"
The Title is what drew me in, I loved the characters.
It was the title.
Yes, I loved that I could see her characters, the women were funny, strong and vocal.
it would be Keely
"Best Chick-Lit ever!"
This was the best chick-lit book I have eve4 read! Discovery identity and pursuing one's own dreams were the back drop of this lovely written series of chaotic events. Yet, I was surprised that Wade and Serena were married as I thought for sure Keely and Will would hook up. As a result, I was pleasantly amused that the culmination of the plot's' celebration was at Mulberry Hill were the characters' development was fully played out. I highly recommend this selection because heavy topics were beautifully intertwined. Plus, the pacing kept my interest, and I finished this book within a week. I was actually a bit sadened to let it go.
"This should not have been and abridged book!"
In the actual book it's a great story line with lots of detail.. But when you take out all that detail and condense it down to only five nearly 6 hours… you're left with a story that isn't too interesting to listen to. I wish there was an unabridged version so that it could be heard/read like it was meant to be. Mary Kay Andrews is an awesome author and I love all of her books. But when it's abridged it just doesn't work out too well. Very disappointed :-(
"If only they had..."
I must admit to being a Mary Kay fan and have may of her books in my library. This one is a lot of fun and left me with only one wish - Please, Audible, Please get an unabridged version with the same narrator who is great! I read the paperback long after I had listened to the audio version and can't for the life of me figure out why they would abridge it in the first place. All the bits that were chopped out just make a good story better. Still is a great listen if a bit short.
Sorry to say I found all but the main female character fairly flat. The so called romantic interest came across as being quite shallow and unmanly. Not what you'd be looking for in a romantic lead.
