"Another winning story from Ms Foster "
This is the fourth Melissa Foster book I have read in a row. I just love the way she creates the most beautiful ideas to weave a wonderful story. Her storytelling is perfect, and the narrator, BJ Harrison is absolutely enthralling. The sex scenes are not only beautifully described, but very tastefully written. I am so enjoying these books and can't wait to start listening to the next one!
"Healed and if feels so good!!!"
This was an amazing book, I love how the author dove into a tough emotional subject and you really felt it as a listener. You felt the love and pain the tears and frustration, the narrator did an amazing job changing from characters and inflections in voices and tones it was spot on.
I loved Jewels character, always wanting to take care of everything and everyone. I resonate with her on so many levels so it was easy to immerse myself in this story.
No I have not but this was a great performance by far.
It made me cry when Nate and Jewel recalled the memories of Rick and the torment Nate was going through internally whenever he thought of what his role in Rick's death was.
This was an amazing addition to the Braden family of stories. Melissa has out done herself again. Even though this was one person doing all the voices/characters he did an outstanding job and really sold me on the authenticity of each character. I got lost in the story and could envision it in my head as he narrated the story. An outstanding performance all in all.
"Truely Healed By Love"
It was my first one...I really enjoyed it.
Jewell. I know Nate had some troubles too, but how she carried so many things in her heart. Helping her mother after her fathers death. Her siblings. Mourning her brothers death, and missing to one person she loved but couldn't tell
When he found her in the woods, and carried her to his house.
It was my first one so I had to get use to someone reading to me. He had a very soft soothing voice.
Melissa Foster is one of the best. I enjoy reading all of her books and now reading them too.
Healed by Love is one of the best friends to lovers story you are going to find. Jewel and Nate have been rotating around each other and their feelings for each other for years. Nate has to get over personal issues that occurred during his time in the military and Jewel has to learn to trust her family and give up some control. In the end they are able to help each other through their issues but do they bring them together? Read Healed by Love if their healing brought love.
The audiobook was ok, at times I had a little difficulty discerning dialogue versus plot/thought from the narrator. I had trouble with his "female" voice. I thought he was a great Nate, just had some issues with his Jewel.
"First Audio Book"
It was the first one I have listened to.
When Nate admits his love for Jewel.
The characters voices and emotions
Yes but with running my children around I would be hard to accompllish.
Wonderful story enhanced more by the narrator!!!! I love all of Melissa Foster's books, but what a joy to have this book read to you. I was able to put on my headphones close my eyes and excape into the beautiful world Melissa Foster created!!!
"Love truly does heal!"
I had read Healed by Love a long time ago but was so excited when Melissa Foster's books came to audio that I wanted to re-"listen" to one of my favorite Braden stories. I loved Nate and Jewel for many reasons – his reluctance to show his love for his best friend’s younger sister and her willingness to put her family – mother and younger siblings – first before going after the love she so desperately wants. Listening to BJ Harrison recreate the story I so loved brought depth to the characters I had envisioned in my head when reading it. Listening to Nate and Jewel’s love unfold and both let go of guilt (his return from the military where her brother was killed in action and her desire to care for her family above all else) and embrace the future was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to listen to more of Melissa Foster’s great Braden romances!
"Fantastic Audio Book!"
I am still fairly new to audio books, but I truly did enjoy listening to Healed by Love by Melissa Foster! The narrator, B.J. did a great job of portraying the characters and made you feel connected to them throughout the story.
I loved the very beginning when Nate shows up in the woods and rescues Jewel. He is trying to hard to hold back and not say/do what he is really feeling. They're both so blinded by their feelings for one another, and have been denying them for so long, that it is almost as if they are completely oblivious to how the other person feels. It's almost funny!
Nate was definitely my favorite character performed by B.J. Harrison! He made all of the characters come to life, but his portrayal of Nate was so true to life. Nate is tough and rugged, but also caring and sensitive on the inside. He cares deeply for those in his life, and wants to make sure everyone is taken care of. Jewel is such an important part of his life, but he feels he is betraying Rick by even considering acting on his feelings for her. Sigh. It was great to watch Jewel help him heal and move past his demons. :)
This book definitely tugged at my heart strings. I don't have any close family in the military, nor have I ever been in a relationship with anyone that has been deployed, but I cannot even begin to imagine the things they deal with while away and once they get home. Guilt can be an ugly thing to try and deal with on your own, and it can be almost impossible for some people to understand the things you have seen, done and dealt with while you were away. That was a huge thing that I reacted to throughout the entire book.
Healed by Love was all around a 5 Star book for me! Reading the book allows you to almost make up the characters and scenes in your own mind, but the audio book takes things to a whole new level. It gives you a glimpse of what the author really sees when they write. What the characters may sound like, how they talk to one another, and the heat arcing between them.
Such an enjoyable read!
"Healed by Love -a must Listen!"
This beautiful Melissa Foster book was made sweeter by listening to it narrated by BJ Harrison. He has such a smooth voice and often surprised me in the fun way he represented the characters. This story about Nate Braden and Jewel Fisher is full of emotion. Nate returns from the military carrying a load of guilt. Jewel's brother Rick was killed and Nate feels responsible. Nate also feels something for Jewell. Will he be able to move beyond his guilt? BJ Harrison really brings Melissa Foster's words to life. Loved this audio book.
"Nate and Jewel"
Nate is home from the military, and feeling guilty. He’s in love with his best friend’s little sister. And, he feels responsible for his best friend’s death. For Jewel, losing her dad and her brother changed her outlook and her future. She feels responsible for her mom and her younger siblings. Nate and Jewel love each other, but they need to get past their feelings of responsibility and get to the business of each other. The story is somewhat predictable, but it was still very enjoyable.
I listened to an audio-version of this book. The narrator was good. He made even awkward scenes seem real and ok. I enjoyed listening to this story, knowing the happily ever after was on its way.
