Noa was trampled and nearly killed by hundreds of horny female fans at a concert of a band she didn't even like, but Alden, the bad boy lead singer of the band, saved her from the trampling tramps. Alden is used to getting what he wants, especially women, but Noa can't stand the cocky, pelvic-thrusting rock star.
Noa reluctantly becomes friends with the rocker, under one condition: He promises not to try to have sex with her. But he didn't promise that he wouldn't do other things. Alden's musically talented fingers are capable of playing more than just a guitar....
Reluctantly Noa goes on a fundraising music tour with Alden's band, Friction. She soon begins to realize there is more to the rocker than sex, music, and his arrogance. But by spending time with one of the biggest superstars in the world, Noa finds herself in the spotlight, illuminating secrets she thought were hidden forever.

I was just 2 chapters in when I was ready to quit this audio book but then thought wait and see if it gets any better. It didn't Noa was so annoying she complained about everything in a very bitchy way and was not nice at all i have no idea why Alden was attracted to her. From time to time the bartering between them was ok and I got why she was like that ( because of her past) she had herself on as a great person then treated Alden like crap.
Also I thought we would have a male and female narrator there was 2 male speaking chapters toward the end of the story
I was so disappointed I love a good rock romance but this one wasn't for me sorry
I read a lot of good reviews so maybe judge for your self
Really enjoyed the friction, or tension, between the lead characters. This friction is the story and I felt the author did a nice job keeping me entertained with the mental emotional and physical exchanges between the two.
I almost threw in the towel after two chapters. I felt the female narrator started out over-the-top aggressive and slightly out of sync with the female character. Just as I was getting ready to ditch it, her performance took an upswing and I was able to connect. Female narrator's portrayal of the male lead wasn't as strong as her female lead but nonetheless tolerable. Loved the male narrator - very easy to listen to and was a perfect match for the male lead. Keen to see what other performances he's done.
Overall, I enjoyed this audio title. If you're looking for a story with depth of plot, move on, but if you like people watching at pace, it's definitely worth your time and credit.
I got 3/4 of the way through and couldn't go any further. I don't understand all the positive reviews. The Heroine was such a self-righteous, hypocritical snot. I could not continue to listen to her bad attitude and opinions about the Hero. Every thing out of her mouth was a criticism about him. I was hoping a bus would come along and run her over. Sorry, just not my idea of a good romance. I will be asking for a refund.
You have to read this book. I loved it. Great story line with a mixture of romance, love, mystery and suspense! I love the way the mind of this author works! I loved the story line. The way the book ended was great. No wondering what happened to ur favorite characters. I've found a new author. About to download all her books!!!
"Loved this Audiobook!"
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't heavy with emotional stuff, it wasn't filled with angst and it wasn't the normal "guy who is afraid to go after what he wants". I needed that very nice change! Noa is a very sassy strong girl with amazing will power (lol) who has no intentions of letting another guy control her or hurt her. Alden is a rock god with a huge heart and a lot of patience! I loved these two together! The banter between these two was fun and the sex Hot!
The narration was good, I was confused about there being 3 narrators but I'm not complaining ;)
L.D. Davis outdid herself again with this book it's absolutely magnificent, from start to finish each page kept drawing me in more and more.
From the moment Alden and Noa met, albeit under not so great circumstances, their relationship has been a series of events that set them on a course of finding each other and finding love. This is two broken people that found each other and through the demons of their past fight for the love and connection that they soon find in each other. Alden dealing with the not so great perks of being a rockstar and his childhood issues tries really hard to find something substantial to make him feel human and wanted. Noa didn't have a great childhood either always wanting to please her mother and suffering tragic occurrences at the hands of her mothers boyfriends. She finds it hard live life and soon is on a path of self destruction to cope with her life. I really loved this book it's everything I hoped and more LD Davis is an amazing writer. The way she describes their relationship through their witty banter and so called hate tactics. Their dirty hot sex scenes were amazing and my god were they hot. Alden the big "monster" sexy rockstar that changed Noa's world overnight, she never saw that coming. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the book their conversations were freaking hilarious and just when it couldn't get any better it takes a turn for the best. This is her best book yet I highly recommend it and the epilogue was the best.
"THIS LISTEN WAS FUN, HOT, ANGSTY.. & SO WORTH A CREDIT"
Noa was dragged to a Friction Concert by her best friend and they got a front row position but she wasn't happy about it - she hated everything the cocky, arrogant, obnoxious, conceited, pelvis thrusting manwhore of a Lead Singer did. Alden Breck is talented, world famous, drool-worthy, sexy, a self-confessed slut... and he's proud of who and what he is - but, as he's giving it his all on stage there's a beautiful woman who isn't looking up at him adoringly, isn't screaming his name, isn't shouting for him to f... her... and is actually looking bored, fed-up and annoyed. So of course the challenge is on - but before he can make his move all Hell breaks loose and Alden ends up saving her life... however, rather than being grateful, Noa lets her feelings fly... and she doesn't hold back her tyrade of verbal abuse at the prancing peacock. And for Alden this fiery feisty hellcat brought out emotions he thought he'd never ever feel but Noa wasn't remotely attracted to the arrogant Rock God.... so the battle commenced.
Noa began to realize that there was much more to Alden Breck than his looks - he was kind, caring, thoughtful, they had bad childhoods in common, they had similar values... and before long Alden was showing up unannounced, showing Noa just what he could do with his oh so talented (and skilful) hands and showing Noa just how much he cared. So their tentative push/pull friendship had some cease-fire moments where Alden opened up to Noa and showed her his vulnerable side. However, it didn't stop the humorous jibes, the quick witted banter and the building sexual chemistry that flowed between them... so now it's not a case of maybe - instead it's a case of when? But just as things were starting to work out for them... someone from Noa's past comes back to cause major trouble in the most catastrophic way... and it wasn't just trust that was broken - it was two hearts too.
I couldn't help but fall a little bit in love with Alden myself... he was loveable and everything you'd want from a sexy Rocker and his character changed from being a cocky horny bad boy and developed into a mature and caring partner. Noa's angsty attitude mellowed too as she conquered demons from her past, overcame self doubt, faced her flaws, found the love of her life... and changed hers and Alden's futures forever. Told mostly from Noa's POV but there were a couple of chapters from Alden's POV and also someone else's twisted thoughts too. So almost all of the narration was done by Samantha Prescott and she did a good job.... but I would have loved to hear more from Alden's POV by the male narrators.
Worth a credit? It's a very entertaining rocker romance with drama, angst and plenty of sex. Alden was a duche bag but he had a huge loveable heart and openly expressed his feelings - Noa was damaged but a survivor and together they made a great couple.... and a very enjoyable romance. And the Epilogue was sigh-worthy. Yes, IMO, it's definately worth a credit.
"No romance! Dirty talk & f** king!"
I wish Audible would put their erotica in the right genre! I'm no prude but when I want to listen to a good romance I don't want just dirty sex talk & f**king with no character development and a weak plot! I want to care about the characters and what happens to them. I do enjoy a few well written romantic sex scenes in a good romance but not with the whole book being just smut for smuts sake! (Pardon the pun) Dirty sex talk and f**king does not make a romance! Audible, please, please stop putting erotica in the romance genera!!!
"Waste of a credit"
I got one hour into it, and couldn't listen anymore, couldn't get into the "plot" nor the heroine she was snotty, rude, and unlikeable, will be asking for a refund (first time ever requesting a refund for a book, so disappointed!) this book could have been a keeper if the writer would have toned down the bitchyness of the heroine, I personally wouldn't want to be associated with someone so sour.
"Couldn't Finish - Main Character Obnoxious Bitch"
Nothing redeemable from main character. Raving Bitch. Really want my credit back. Really disappointed. Sorry.
"I wasn't sure I could get behind a book with a rockstar named Alden- but in the end, I'm an Alden fan!!"
Alden. Really? Wasn't sure if that name could represent a hot alpha rocker, but whew, now I'm thinking all bands should rename their lead singer Alden. He was definitely hot and all alpha. He also had a soft side and made me laugh quite a few times. I loved Noa as a heroine because she didn't cave to Alden's every whim. There was more to the story than just the budding romance that added to my enjoyment of the story.
The narration was solid and I don't recall any detractions or annoyances from the narrators. Note that most of this story is narrated from the female POV.
Bought audio on sale and it's definitely worth that price. A little thin on the beginning and the attraction, but there is just enough depth to the story to think that Davis has clear potential to grow & I'm open to trying other books. The narration was top notch- male and female voices that fit the characters. Very much hope to hear more in future.
