Terrified of becoming mated like her parents, Isabelle has locked herself away in order to avoid their fate. She is content to stay sheltered among her family, hidden away as she lives out her days away from the human race and the world. Despite her determination to remain alone, her world is rocked when a person from her parents' past arrives at their door, bringing with them the powerful and stunning vampire Stefan.
Though Stefan is not expecting to arrive at a nest full of vampires, he is immediately drawn to the vibrant, often defiant, and willful Isabelle. To his surprise Isabelle does everything in her power to avoid him and her desire for him. No matter how hard she tries to fight it, Isabelle begins to realize that trying to deny her destiny may just destroy them both, as there are some things that cannot be stopped. But just as she begins to let her guard down, Stefan's dark and deadly past catches up to him and threatens to destroy them both.

"It was pretty good"
At the beginning of the book I was very lost and confused because there are so very many characters. Too many. But I love Tavis Gilbert and Brenda Davies so I worked through my confusion.
enjoy the characters continuing from book 1, would have enjoyed a little more of Liam and Sera but enjoyed their children Love Tavia Gilbert, she's the best
the story was excellent. it was broken down enough to fall in love with all the old characters as well as the new ones. the story had a bit of drama, love and action.
"Poor story line."
I loved the 1st book! I am not sure what the author was thinking here or how the editor let this one get published but the only good part about it was the last 2 chapters. This book really dragged on and on. I kept listening because I paid for it for one and second the 1st was so good!!!! Very disappointed with this one.
"Isabelle is an annoying crybaby."
I loved all the characters except Isabelle.
The first was definitely much better. I hope the third makes up for this one.
Isabelle was just too naive, immature and judgmental for me.
"Immature and Frustrating"
Stefan is over 200 years old so he should have the patience, maturity and control of a 200 year old vampire. Instead, he has the maturity of a teenager. He has no patience and his personality comes across as more abusive than controlling. He has terrible tantrums and the way he treats Isabelle is unacceptable.
5 star narrator performance.
Read the first book and now the second one can't wait to read the 3rd.
