A dazzling urban satire of modern human relations? An ironic, tragic insight into the demise of the nuclear family? Or the confused ramblings of a pissed thirty-something? The third installment in Bridget Jones' journey, Mad About the Boy, will be out in October 2013.

"A brilliant evocation of life as a single girl in a certain time... reads like Anita Loos out of Jane Austen, and any woman who has ever had a job, a relationship or indeed a mother will read it and roar" (The Times)
"I cannot recommend a book more joyfully... Hilariously funny, miraculously observed, endlessly touching" (Daily Telegraph)
"Wild comedy... observed with merciless, flamboyant wit. A gloriously funny book" (Sunday Times)
Hilarious! Narrator was amazing as Bridget. Laughed many times at ridiculous situations Bridget gets herself into and loved that it was so different from the movie.
I'm am loving g this is book so funny so cute can't wait to start next one loved the movie but the book is even better. love. the love story and the performance is great loved her voice work great book
Have read this book half a dozen times and this is my first foray into Bridget's world on audio. Exactly the right voice for this entertaining character. Still laughed aloud at bits that I've read many times. Highly recommended.
"fantastic narrator, great book"
the narrator sounds exactly like a Bridget would, as well as the Mother and even the guys. She does a superb job, incredible acting talent. The book jumps off the earphones :)
none so far, it's the best, i read it twice in a row already
no particular one
Everyday singelton fun!
I know that it is surpose to be a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudices, but somehow I fell like that comparison takes something away from the finesse of Helen Fieldings book.
I love the movie, but every time I read the book I remember just how much more it brings to the story. So If you like the movie - read the book, not because it is better by leaps, but it really brings more to the world of Bridget Jones!
Love the book and the movie! fun and energetic. great narration I highly recommend this book
"Really Enjoyed This!"
This was a lot of fun to listen to and this narrator really captured the essence of Bridget.
Slow to start. But overall a good book. Would listen to it again. Can't wait to read the other's.
"Just plain fun!"
I have not listening to Imogene Church before this, but absolutely loved her Bridget.
I've read this book several times, usually following some other heavy tome I wanted to rinse from my head. It's just a good bit of fun, certainly not intellectual, but a light-hearted way to pass time. And, if you think about it, you either know someone who somehow resembles Bridget or maybe you see a little of yourself in her.
"Brilliantly narrated by Imogen Church!!!"
Brilliantly narrated by Imogen Church!!! Hope the next two books in the series live up to the skill of Imogen Church.
I forgot how much women were required to hate themselves in the 90s.
Cute story, but I'm glad feminism has moved forward.
Always loved this book, and was very excited to have an unabridged audiobook available. Superbly narrated by Imogen Church. A modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice incorporating the neurotic thoughts of a single thirtysomething women just looking for happiness. Warm and charming and laugh out loud funny - a fantastic piece of escapist fiction.
Very amusing entertainment
Yes. I really enjoyed listening to it
I haven't. But I will certainly start looking for more of her performed readings. She's amazing
I laughed out loud several time, and smirked quite a lot
I had watched the movie so pretty much knew what was going to happen, but I still enjoyed listening to it very much, thanks to the several situations the heroine got herself into and to the amazing performance of Imogen Church.
"superbly funny - story and narration"
I never read the print version, its only because it was available in audio that I actually read/listen to the book. Would not read the book as like my memory of Imogen doing Bridget
Bridget JOnes Diary - Edge of Reason, as they are part of the same series. Haven't read/listened to any other books like this
As above, but I intend to listen to more of her work - totally amazed by her performances - superb
Here she goes again
thanks to Imogen's amazing narration, I now prefer her version of Bridget to the famous Renee Zelwegger's film version of her charactor
"Not a book for the middle aged."
when I first read this 25 years ago I laughed till I cried. listening to it as a middle aged woman with grown up children I realised the protagonist was in fact boring, facile and the incessant focus on her weight being under 9 stone was seriously worrying. it may be a period piece but I'm so glad that I don't think.like this now and am pretty certain I never did!
"Lovely, funny and well read"
Love these stories, Imogen Church brings the characters to life. Funny, entertaining and relatable, this book is one that you can listen to over and over.
"Usually I enjoy the book better than the film"
Just the way Bridget is described - she is not endearing as portrayed in the film, but stupid.
Not any of the Bridget Jones books, no.
I haven't listened to any others. I'm not sure if it was the performance that spoilt it for me. I suspect not.
I still love the film - was just disappointed by the book.
"My first audio book...I chose a good one!!"
I haven't gotten around to reading the print version so thought this would be a good opportunity to "read" the books, as I love the film so much.
Imogen Church reads the book fantastically, the voices she does for each character are spot on and makes the book so so funny to listen to. I laughed out loud many times!
No, I listened to this book over 2 and a half weeks, on the way to and from work, and it was perfect!
I really recommend this book, especially for any first timers to Audible. It is a very funny book, and Imogen does a great job of making the characters come to life and you can picture them as she speaks. Exactly like the film!! So so good, I will listen to this again at some point I'm sure, and have already downloaded the second one!
"just a classic"
will make you smile and remember yourself sometimes. it a light read. enjoy and the next 3 are fun
"love the book just wish it was the actress naratin"
love the story but have seen the film so many times the voice just doesn't sound right. Nothing wrong with it just a battle with my head
"prefer the film"
I love the film but was really disappointed with the book. I found both the characters and story extremely annoying. Too repetitive talking about weight, smoking, drinking and men. First time I have ever known a film to be better than the book.
