"I love this series but the narrator was awful"
I love this series. I've read it totally thought 2 times. I needed something to listen to while I was working on a big project so I have gone through the first 6 books. The narration is tolerable because the story is so good but OMG. She goes between accents with no consistency, she is so monotone it's painful at times. If you love Laruaine Snellings writing you can get through it but just know its not good. I prefer when the actual author narrates.
The story of these people coming to america and forming the town of Blessing is so sweet. I love every character and Lauraine Snelling brings them to life in such a way I want to crawl in the books and live there. I love would a movie but I know Hollywood would butcher it. Sweet escape to a lovely place
Too many to list
I don't mean to be mean, but seriously, this narrator was intolerable. I could not even get through the 2nd chapter. Her monotone voice did not allow me to even get into the story. I'm spoiled to listening to Pam Ward and others like her that are obviously "professional narrators." Again, I don't mean to hurt feelings.
I couldn't get through this! The narrator was not my favorite. I found myself correcting her inflections in my head. Also, she was kind of monotone. I'm not sure if there are other books in this series? Because I came into it utterly confused. The story had some potential, and I normally love Loraine Snelling's books, but this one didn't seem to move along. I felt like the main characters were not the main characters because everyone else was featured so strongly.
"I couldn't put this one down"
Although this was a bit of a stretch to be believable, the author succeeded in getting me hooked and not wanting to put the book down, or turn it off, since this is an audible book.
"The part of the story with Agusta and Cain held my interest the rest, not so much."
The story was only 1/3rd about August and Cain. The rest didn't hold my interest. Wouldn't recommend it.
"Can't wait for the next!"
I have so gotten in this story and cannot wait for the next! I hope it comes out soon!
Narration is great! The plot could have been amazing. However, rosie, happy and totally predictable. Nope!
