I've always known she was too good for me, but that never stopped me from wanting her.
And then I finally had her for one night.
A night I don't remember.
I figured I'd blown my shot.
But now she's walked back into my life, and this time I have the upper hand. I want my second chance.
Will she be able to see the man beneath this ink?

This was an amazing Love Story.
I haven't been able to sleep untill I finished the book.
well worth listening to.
Narration was amazing too.
The story line was great i was hooked straight away
con was my favorite I loved how he was always committed to Vanessa and how his issues about trusting her fell away wince he got past the rich girl persona.
They were very easy to listen to and I always love having a male take part in the audio books it gives an edge of unique. Sebastian York has to be one of my favorites
No but I did finish it in a few days. I like to listen when I'm in the traffic driving or at the gym so I try to listen during these times but I could of easily listened at once.
I'm now hooked on the whole series Meghan March I'm addicted to you writings so more please ......
"Five Breathtaking Stars!"
Meghan March knows how to write a romance that sizzles! These stories are extraordinarily written with fascinating characters who are multi-layered and grow as they fall in love. Their sexy and lustful inner dialogue, and banter between the H/h was so sweet, swoon worthy and brought a blush to my checks. Con was the perfect alpha male without being too dominate, and Vanessa was so much more than just a rich girl.
While things between Con and Vanessa were heating up, Con was searching for answer and on a path that could ultimately destroy any future these two could have. The suspense and the surprising plot twists, makes this so much more than a romance.
Arndt, and York's performance was fantastic, and I love how they bring the characters to life.
Loved this story, and look forward to the next in the series. The romance was SWEET, the sex scenes were HOT, and the plot and suspense were the perfect balance between light and dark. Definitely worth a credit!
Liked this one a lot! Andi and Sebastian could read the phone book and I'd listen! Con was much more likable in this one than the glimpse of him we got in book 1. I really didn't like Lukas, which makes me wonder how I'll feel about him in his story. Overall, good storyline, good listen!
Ok, I had already read this book when I saw that it was now on audible. When I saw the narrators I was excited!!!! Andi did GREAT as always and for the first time, I didn't like Sebastian's performance. He tried to do an accent and NO his voice needs nothing but the deep sex appeal that is natural. So I hope he never does this again. Other then that, I love the actual story. Read all three books and they are great. Can't wait for the next.
"Good as the First"
This second book didn't disappoint me after the wonderful first book. Meghan March does a great job of telling a fun story. There is a little bit of everything in this book, not just romance. There is suspense, thrill, excitement and much more. You can get a lot of enjoyment from this book. I thought Con was kind of a hound dog from the first book, but there is a lot of substance to his personality. Vanessa is also not what she looks like. The best part, Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. Great Narrators. Love them both.
"Drop the Louisiana Accent Sebastian 😜😳"
Narrators can make or break a book. There are some that I cannot listen to because it distracts from the story too much.
After listening to the first chapter, I almost quit because of Sebastian's horrible attempt of a Louisiana accent.
OMG, It was so bad.
Thankfully, he only used it on a few words after that and then throughout the book, he almost stopped, but a few of them jolted me into laughter and I couldn't believe the Editer/Director of this Audio didn't say,
"Nevermind, just say it straight".
This book was pretty good. Some parts of the story was a bit lame, but with Andi Arndt and Sebastian as the Narrators, it made it much better.
Just overlook their 5th grade banter at times, her eating disorder, and mainly the blackmale of her coworker and then turning into a hero? Didn't work for me.
If you get this book, which I did on sale thankfully, it is a good hot fun steamy listen.
Love listening to narrators except for York doing female voices. Do not like it. If you are going to have a dual narration then have York reading all male parts. In a lot of reviews I am not the only one that feels that. Audible books are for entertainment.
Good but I liked the first installment more. However I did enjoy the hero and heroine.
"Sebastian York nailed it!"
This is book two. It was as good, if not better, then book one. A few have complained that SY missed the mark on the accent. As a former NOLA resident I must disagree. He really did the accent justice. He had more of a Cajun flare not just a southern accent. This is more of what you will find from a lifelong resident of New Orleans. As far as the book itself goes, I thought it was excellent. The story takes place around the same time as book one. In fact in a few places the scenes overlap. Both narrators do a fantastic job and this book has made Megan March an automatic download for me. Go ahead and get it you won't be sorry!
"I DEVOURED, SAVORED & RELISHED EVERY SCENE"
Handsome, tattooed and pierced Con had problems.... he was looking for a killer, he had a chip on his shoulder, a 'one night and done' attitude towards women and he fantasised over the one hot drunken night that he couldn't remember with the one woman that he couldn't forget - Vanessa. And now here she was back in his life, two years later, asking for a favor so he took it as fate giving him another chance to have a 'do over' night and this time he was going to remember every second.... yeah he was sure it wasn't going to last, yeah he was sure it was going to be difficult thawing the ice between them but yeah he was sure and confident after the steamy looks she'd given him that he'd do it and most of all he was very sure that they were both going to enjoy it.
There was instant chemistry and lust-filled glares but they'd vaguely known each other for years and had stubbornly ignored each other as each of them thought the other one was way out of their league.... Con thought she was a pampered, spoiled, beautiful Princess and Vanessa thought he was so sexy and handsome that he wouldn't be interested in her which led to a push/pull relationship. However, now she needed something from him so Con came up with a plan and a bargain to get his one night with her..... but it backfired and slowly proved each of their previous doubts and misconceptions about each other were totally wrong.
And, along the way new friendships were formed, a mystery was solved, a greedy traitor and puppet master to mass murders was found, there was a bloody carjacking that left someone fighting for their life, a twist or two and a manipulative blackmailer had a heart after all. However, through it all Con and Vanessa's relationship grew steadier, well there were fiery heated words and digs, but the sizzling chemistry, shared secrets, passion and Alpha led sex soon doused the anger, doused any doubts and doused the fears of tomorrow. Which led to character growth, mutual trust and respect, love and a very sweet Epilogue.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, good narration, great characters, a hot Alpha hero and an addictive plot that had tension, drama, angst, passion, sex and romance which all added up to an unstoppable listen and a HEA which finally released me in the wee small hours so I could get a few hours of sleep before a new day dawned. So, YEAH it was very creditworthy, could be listened to as a stand alone (but why deprive yourselves of book 1?) and I'm eagerly looking forward to Lord's story which is the next book in this fantastic series.
"Not my "Beneath Series" Fav, But..."
This book would not be my first recommendation to friends. Beneath This Mask was so much better. Dont get me wrong, this book has sassy cute characters, dominance, jealousy, and an unexpected twist near the end, but overall, I just wasnt as into this one as the last. It didnt pull at my heartstrings the way Simon and Charlie's story did.
The ending was about what I expected. Although there were a couple chapters that had me questioning which way things could go, I felt the ending was ultimately expected and appropriate. This one didnt leave me with the desire to jump right into book 3.
I love Andi Arndt as a narrator and Sebastian York. They always do a fabulous job!
Really, no. This novel had a drastic increase in play by play sex and language over Beneath This Mask. The sex in book 1 was touching, beautiful, and left me emotional. Totally hot without feeling dirty. Cons hard life lead this book straight down the path most alpha male erotica books head for. I felt the first book was more respectable and probably would have more movie potential than this one.
"A full five stars"
It's official! I'm hooked. My new favourite series. I loved this story, loved the characters and loved the dual POV. Constantine (Con), super hot tattooed alpha male, goes all mushy for rich society princess, Vanessa. Although Con is not short of money, he still doesn't think he's worthy to make a play for Vanessa, but, it turns out that he has something that Vanessa really wants. Vanessa isn't happy about approaching manwhore Con, but he's got what she needs and she's willing to do pretty much anything to get it. The chemistry between these two was spot on, they were literally made for each other, you know what they say, opposites attract. The story, written beautifully, kept me on my toes, had me rooting for their happy ever after and had me hating on some of the supporting characters. An added twist at the end knocked me for a six. I loved it. A full five stars from me.
Andi and Sebastian, what a team!
"Performance draws you in"
There should be several books thematically similar, but the performance by Arndt and York are unbeatable.
Being an audiobook, the most important feature is the performance. If the voice actors' voices do not draw you in, then the book is ruined (in my opinion). Arndt and York should do more books of this nature together. I am very pleased with their performances for the series.
It is easy to "feel" the characters. The language and scenarios really draw you in. It is difficult to not listen without stopping.
I am looking forward to a 7th book.
"One of the best"
definitely, its a great story with great characters, you can't stop listening
Vanessa realizing she wanted Con
The roof top scene
not really, all of it
Meghan March has become one of my favorite authors
