What happens when the girl next door becomes ‘that girl off the telly.’ There are some things in life you can always rely on. Living in the shadow of your ‘perfect’ brother Joey, getting the flu over Christmas, and your Mother showing you up in the supermarket. Then there are some things you really don’t count on happening: a good dose of fame, getting completely trashed at an awards ceremony, and catching your fella doing something unmentionable on your wedding day. This is my story, it’s dead tragic. You have been warned... Jodie xx

"A funny, excruciating, poignant story… All She Wants is a wonderful debut from a writer who is sure just to get better" (Review syndicated nationally, appearing in – among others – Manchester Evening News, East Anglian Daily Times, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Nottingham Post, Liverpool Post, Wales on Sunday, Driffield Times & Post, Sunderland Echo, Northern Echo and the Sheffield Star.)
I am a total audiobook addict! I travel quite a bit for work and listen to them while I drive. Always searching for a good author to follow
I am loving this author!! This was a great story and I was hooked from the first chapter. The only thing I had issue with was it finished too soon! I felt like ending was a little rushed. Or maybe I was just disappointed that it had to end :(
Great characters and a great story!
"Gimme, Gimme, Gimme!"
A fun and frothy romp, a little predictable in places, but some great one liners and situations that draw on Harvey's TV work. A tour de force performance from Leanne Best - cracking!
"I loved this so much ive listened to it twice !!!"
Yes !! and I have...brilliantly written and brilliantly read. loved it
I felt that I really knew all of the characters. very witty, and leanne Best made it come to life with her narration
The watching of the awards with her parents
made me laugh out loud,
Ive since read jonathans other book, the confusion of Karen Carpenter......brilliant, more jonathan harvey please......write some more Jonathan
From the beginning it catapults you in to a world of pure amazement, comedy and pure genius of literature
"Another great book by Jonathan Harvey"
This is the second of Jonathan Harvey's books I've listened to and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of twists and turns, most of them fairly predictable but even then still totally engaging and enjoyable.
I loved the voices Leanne did for each of the characters, even though some of the accents left a lot to be desired! Ming was my favourite voice.
I'm looking forward to my next instalment of Jonathan Harvey's back catalogue and will be disappointed when I run out of titles!
"Narrator made this great."
Good story but Leanne Best made this better. Bit of Gimme Gimme Gimme humour in here and the whole thing was great from start to finish. Really disappointed that I can't find any others narrated by Leanne.
"Loved this book"
Funny, moving, Scouse!
It was not my typical read at all but after several crime thrillers I thought I would try something lighter. It reminded me of a Carla Lane sitcom.
She managed to bring the characters to life in such a way you felt You knew the family.
I got a couple of strange looks as I laughed out loud listening to this whilst walking the dog.
A really enjoyable listen. Has made me want to listen to more like it.
"Great performance. ...."
Great narration and instantly engaging, within 10 mins I was hooked. Ultimately I felt the book was a bit overlong, but an enjoyable listen nonetheless. ...
"I loved this book"
For the first 10 minutes I didn't think I would like this book but then I was hooked!! I thought Leanne Best narrated it wonderfully. I fell in love with the McGee family and cringed and laughed in equal measure.
"Jonathan Harvey ...... That lads my world!"
Made me laugh out loud and not many books succeed in that. Poignant and hard hitting at times, but the Scouse humour never fails, that unique quality of being able to see the comedy in the tragic.
The performance was 'bangin' from a real Scouser rather than an actor trying to copy the accent, Leanne Jones' rendition was 'fab', she WAS Jodie.
'Dead gutted ' when it came to an end. I'll miss Jodie's stories. Jonathan how about a follow up on Jodie's antics???
As they say in Liverpool it was 'boss'
"A great narration brings this book alive"
Light entertainment that's enjoyable right from the start. The narrator brings the central character alive with lots of laughs along the way
