WARNING, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK from Matt Connover, Litigation God: Please do not attempt to read my story in public, as my sexual proclivities have been known to cause squirming in your seat, squeezing of your legs together and unintentional moaning, sometimes with spontaneous bursts of laughter at random moments. If you are offended by the fact that my oral skills are just as accomplished in the bedroom as they are the courtroom, then this book is not for you. There may be moments while reading my story that you get so turned on, so hot and bothered, that your squirming and moaning could turn maniacal in nature and neither I, nor the author, are responsible for the weird looks you may get. Notwithstanding the aforementioned warnings, if you assume the risk and read my tale in public, then I recommend you carry a spare set of panties with you. You will need them and you have been warned. My name is Matt Connover. I am a Litigation God. Other lawyers quake before me. Women crawl on their knees just to spend the night in my bed and when I'm finished with them, I walk away without a backward glance. I am well satisfied with my life and there isn't a damn thing I'd change about it. That is, until McKayla Dawson came along. She was meant to be for one night only but she got under my skin, and now I want her back underneath my body. It's torture working with her in my law firm, day in and day out. But I have to think maybe the Fates have intervened to throw us together because she is unlike anyone I've ever known, and thus I need to pay careful attention to these Legal Affairs.

This book really took me by surprise. Matt and Mac's story was kind of exhausting at times. All in all Matt's unresolved issues with his ex wife makes you want to throttle him. Mac is strong enough to handle him however we all have our breaking point. They do eventually find their HEA...
"Self Centered Bastard gets his just desserts!"
Did not "read" the book in print
Lee Samuels is an awesome narrator. I've listened to a few of his books and in this one, he plays an awesome ass! Only to later on in the story, realize that being a self-centered asshole isn't gonna get the girl.
It actually ticked me off at times because it was playing with me.... I don't like that. They get together, they fall apart, they get together, they fall apart.... Get your shit together you TWO... jeez... Overall however, I enjoyed the story. I laughed a few times but my anger at the two of them for their behavior wouldn't allow me to cry. I just wanted to look them book in the eye and say... "grow up you two!"
"Loved this one!"
This was a great book told completely from the male point of view. I've read books that would switch off male/female in different chapters but never one that was all told from the guys side. I kept wondering what is "she" thinking and how could she keep with him the way he treated her - sometimes you wonder why she would not just kick him to the curb. I was so hooked on this story that I couldn't put it down. As soon as I finished it I went looking for more from this author. Unfortunately, the second one, Alex, isn't even close. Stick with this one. From the narrator to the story it is the best I've listened to in a very long time.
I read the Legal Affairs series and was really wanting to read Matt's pov. I had no idea how much more I would get. Not only do we get to see a whole new side of Matt, but seeing Mac in this new light made me see the whole story differently. You do not need to read either one to enjoy the other, so don't worry about that. Both stand alone nicely. The narrator did a great job when her went back and forth between Mac and Matt. I will probably listen to more books he has read. Great story with great narrator.
"Same book as Legal Affairs!"
I kept thinking this sounds so familiar, I doubled checked and no this was not in my library, then I went back to Legal Affairs which I had read, sure enough, it's the same damn book! Different reader and this one is a little longer but the same characters and the same story!! This is a total rip off! Not fair! Wasted a credit! So one of them but not both! Have no idea why they did this.
Story was cheesy and not at all based in reality. I get stretching situations for a good story but sheesh, this was just terrible. Sad I wasted a credit.
This is a great book written by Sawyer Bennett and narrated by Lee Samuels. This book can be listened to in one sitting if you have the time, once I started listening to it I didn’t want to put it down until the end. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. This was such a great read and full of surprises.
The narrator Lee Samuels did a great job with this book. He did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting if I would have had the time. I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
"not my cuppa to listen an audio book"
i just couldnt get into it. the story was good...but i think i am more of an oldfashioned girl that wants to picture the whole scenery by herself. the nareation was actually a distraction.
"SEX SEX SEX.... and Lee Samuels"
It has SEX, SEX, SEX, and guess what... more SEX!!!! Yes, please! Lee Samuels did an excellent job.
I was rocked by this book. 1 of the "best ever". was a great read.
"Another Sawyer Bennett Winner"
I absolutely loved the first 6 Legal Affairs books, and reading them all again in this one book from Matt's POV made me love both Matt and Mac all the more. I did feel however that Matt came across as more of a jerk than I originally thought, heartless, so very selfish and oh so stubborn. Still love him to bits though. Thank heavens that Mac is so adorably perfect, understanding and can stand up for herself. With 'out of this world' chemistry (sizzling hot), Matt and Mac are in my mind, the perfect couple. It's just a shame that Matt seems to be fighting their attraction and is unable to commit. I love all Sawyer Bennett's books, her writing is sexy, witty, and the perfect mix of angst and HEA. Although this book can very definitely be read as a standalone, I would recommend that the first 6 novellas are read first to gain maximum enjoyment.
