Publisher's Summary

The highly anticipated sequel to the SUNDAY TIMES bestselling EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE 'Bloody brilliant' V.E. Schwab

‘A ripping read’ Joe Abercrombie

Gabriel de León has saved the Holy Grail from death, but his chance to end the endless night is lost.

After turning his back on his silversaint brothers once and for all, Gabriel and the Grail set out to learn the truth of how Daysdeath might finally be undone.

But the last silversaint faces peril, within and without. Pursued by children of the Forever King, drawn into wars and webs centuries in the weaving, and ravaged by his own rising bloodlust, Gabriel may not survive to see the truth of the Grail revealed.

A truth that may be too awful for any to imagine.

Includes a bonus conversation between Jay Kristoff and actor/director Joseph Morgan (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Halo).

BRILLIANT

THIS is an audiobook. THIS is what I’ve been missing since my days of Patrick rothfuss. The story, the narration, the pacing, it’s all just breathtakingly good. If you liked the first, you will LOVE this. The narration from
Both the male and female readers are perfection. It’s absolutely fantastic, don’t wait, just get it.

'Bloody' brilliant story. It's no fairytale,it is however, everything that I didn't know I needed in a book.

Waiting for the resolution, apart from that small inconvenience, there is nothing to dislike.

IT’S MAGNIFICENTLY DARK

This book was as good as the first. Just brilliant. Quite dark and desperate in places, but twists and turns give you a glimmer of hope. Many questions answered from the first book, but many more mysteries yet to be solved. A couple of twists at the end that will have you reaching for the next book when it’s released.

Totally recommend if you like heavy, grim fantasy.

Soild Sequel

An epic follow-up to EotV. The story and mythos delves deeper, the battles escalate and the blood flows in abundance. If you liked the 1st book this is just as good.
The addition of a second narrator was jarring at first but makes sense as the story evolves. At times the narrators seem to forget which character they are representing with established accents dropped in parts. But overall very good, need the final book ASAP.

Just amazing, favourite series ever.

Incredibly written and narrated. Only bad thing now is waiting again for the next instalment. Kristoff is a phenomenon!

Best fantasy ever written

I just re-read the first book in this series, followed by the second, which was even better.
I cannot sing enough praises, and consider this series one of the top fantasy sagas ever written. Imagine The Game of Thrones, but with significantly more action and dialogues, and with all characters having the wit of Tyrion. Fantastic 👏👏👏 I can’t wait for the next one.
I wish I had time to actually read, rather than listen, but this turned to be a good alternative, as the execution was superb.

Engaging, sprawling story

At 31 hours this is a hefty audio-book and feels well worth the price of admission. There are big sweeping battles and small moments of character development to enjoy. Strangely, the world described and the events feel small and could be easily summarised in a few short sentences. Yet the banter of the characters is not tiresome. Having two narrators for characters of their respective gender is great. I did not particularly enjoy either the female narrator's version of the male protagonist, nor the male narrator's voice of the female protagonist, but the story demanded I had to endure both for bits of the book. It makes narrative sense, but still distracts.
